Its easy to get those badges if you dedicate yourself.
Knife badge -- try sneaking around and camping spawn points in Karkand (haven't you guys ever snuck around with a knife in CS? same idea)
Pistol Badge -- works great if you have the M95 as it only takes 1, sometimes 2 shots with a pistol to finish the guy. Again use this on a city map.
Explosives Ordinance -- you've got 3 classes that can get this (Spec Ops, Sniper, Engineer). Spec Ops is probably the best, however it is very doable with Sniper & lastly Engineer.
Spec Ops: Easiest way is to leave C4 at a flag and then detonate when enemies try to cap.
Sniper: Practically guaranteed kills. Drop claymores in well-traveled areas (alleyways) or directly in a spawn point. When an enemy spawns and a claymore is there, as soon as he moves he will go boom. Most players will not see claymores until it is way too late [Also good to put these against the wall, kinda the same idea as a tripwire].
Engineer: This requires more work, but you can create powerful explosions by chaining AT mines within range of each other. Set them off by using a grenade, or get an Assault friend to detonate with an M203. Also you can booby trap vehicles by putting a mine in the back seat or underneath the vehicle. Most people don't think an AT mine can take them out.Comment

I'm not sure if this works (maybe someone can confirm this) but do you get kills if you kill in a jihad buggy? (ie. I kill 3 guys + myself using a jihad buggy -- do I get credit with 3 C4 kills then?)Comment

Just to clarify that you cannot go from Master Sargeant > First Sargeant ehen you get the missing badges so make sure you get themn before the rank upgrade if your desperate for First Sarge (although i think Master Sarge SOUNDS better and higher personally)
You CAN however level from Master Gunnery Sargeant > Sargeant Major (the 50,000 point upgrade) as a very good friend of mine got the level up after getting a missing "transport" badgeat arounf 55,000 points and i was in the game on VOIP with him when it upgraded and therfore witnessed it myself.
I wonder why you can level up with one and not the other?? perhaps its because the Sargeant major rank is the last Realistic rank that player can get ( only a handfull will ever get a bar IMHO)Comment

Yes they count as long as it gives the kill message as "name C4 name" comes up as the kill message which is most likely unless people bail out and the wreckage kills themOriginally posted by DamanexorComment

So I have a question. When I jump from Gunny to first sergeant (I have all badges), do I receive one or two unlocks? I hope I get two as I went from gunny to master to first. But I am getting the feeling that isn't the case.Comment

only one unlock for the master sgt/first sgt rank
also so you know, if you received the basic pistol and veteran pistol badge at the same time, you will not make first sgt. Since the patch they changed the requirements for this so new players will not have this problem, however, people like me that did get the vet pistol at the same time as basic (had over 50 global kills, and got 7 pistol kills in a game, was awarded "basic pistol" then also awarded "veteran pistol") players that had this happen will not make first sgt. Why? because it only looks for the basic badge, not the veteran, so you get screwed out of the rank and stuck at master sgt... ....oh well, least I know its fixed now and i'll get to sgt major someday....maybe....lol
