I understand where everyone here is coming from on the "Knife Fight Honor Code", but in all the rest of the players defense, why would we stop to notice that you have your knife out instead of say a grenade? the object of war is to stop your enemy by what ever means you have. Should we not shoot at infantry while in tanks, helo's or planes?

I'm by no means busting on you guys. If that is what a select few enjoy, then by all means hunt each other down and have fun, but I don't think it's fair to critisize the other players in the server for shooting at the enemy to protect a team mate. It's not like you can holler out to everyone to back up and give you room for your own personal battle.

I understand the "Gun Fight in the street at noon" idea, but with this game, it's a frigging war going on. He who has the biggest, deadliest gun wins.

I apologize in advance to anyone here that wants to be in a knife fight, and I shoot you in the head to protect my team. I want to win the battle, that means the enemy must die however I can do it.

It's a code of honour I stick to. I always pull a knife when less than 10 feet. 8/10 times they shoot at me, but I have noticed a few people pull knives & we have a good ol' knifey knifey stabby stabby

Best thing is, it doesn't matter how much health each person has. So if they have just knifed someone else, there is no excuse not to fight the next person.

I am the one starting the knife fights, except they are not really fights...I stab someone and walk away from it.

0.91 knifekills per hour atm

It all depends how are team is doing, if where in charge or its tilted a little in our favor I will run along on my way then circle back and wait at a safe killing distance, if the guy on my team wins I move along, if the other guy wins I gun him down and steal his satisfaction. If our team is losing ground or behind I will simply gun the bad guy down and keep moving. The only time I will always shoot the enemy when were ahead or behind is when Im sniping at distance. Its just fun and challenging to finish a guy off as hes trying to knife someone, and if I at least hit him I have a good chance of getting a kill assist.

i just shoot the bad guy, and move on. Thats if he is a threat to anything, but for the good of the order i would just shoot him.

i follow the code myself, some people dont thought, i walk up to then with a knigfe and what bang bang, shoot me the dang basterds, but oh well, also if i am low on health i'll shoot too, so =)

In defense of some of the people that shoot knifers.

I'm an old guy and sometimes in the heat of battle I get all fumbley with the buttons and if I see an enemy ten feet from me switch to a knife there's a good chance that by the time I find the knife button I end up perforated, so I'll just pull the trigger instead.

Really, I'm an honorable player just a little slower then most of you.

Not again.. one more of these "it's a war" guys. :hmm:

Two simple rules:
1) The object of war is to get the enemy into a position where it has to surrender willingly or not.

When u say "what ever means u have" it's questionable coz for example biological weapons and killing civilians is not "ok" even in real war...

(i know this is not 100% accurate but i'll leave it here to keep it short)

2) The object of a computer game called BF2 is to have fun and let others have fun.

Knife fights happen only so often so i dont think shooting either one of the participants has much effect on the outcome of the round.

It's a jungle out there so it gives me great satisfaction to see 2 ppl engage in a good oldfashioned knife fight.

Its people like you I love to stab, too much of a girl to pull your knife out, jump on our server and try that and you "WILL" get stabbed!

your saying I'm not following your "code of honor" by pulling out my knife when I can pop you in the head with a pistol? And how would you stab me if you can't catch me?

I tend to introduce the enemy to Mr. Jackhammer if I happen to be an Engineer. If I'm any other class I do battle with my blade though.

I like to knife, a lot. If by some chance I miss you with my knife....and you pull yours....bam.....your dead.

I don't have time to sit and play when I have other fools that are calling for my knife.

But if I do see two people knife fighting, I'll let them go at it. If my team loses, you get shot.

What I really hate is when you sneak up on someone, and someone on your team shoots the guy right before you knife him. Even when they saw what you where going to do.

If that's not call for a TK then I don't know what is.

The problem with YOU pull out a knife & THEY pull out the gun & shoot you is ..... "Honor" is NOT a stat that is tracked. lol

my neighbours was in a few knife fights yesterday. the first time another enemy came up behind and killed him in the middle of the fight but the second time was honorable. he was in a knife fight in an open area and all his teammates jsut walked past leaving him to his fight.
