No offence but you seem to be the one with the problem here you seem to be ranting on without even looking for a solution to the problem you are ranting about, you are literally trying to break down any solution to the problem you have address so you can continue to rant about it.

I was just clearly stating that maybe you didn't understand the context that i was using the words in and as i will admit it may have been slightly confusing because i did in some of the posts use the word board instead of forum, i have edited these mistakes previous of making this post so the edited post may clear up any confusion you may have had.

There is no floor in my logic, the floor in your logic is you seem to be bring the problem to the attetion of people and then not actually give solutions to them which doesn't help the situation at all and normally makes it worse due to the fact you get people arguing with no real points to be made.

I believe Penny Arcade hit the nail on the head with this comic in describing forum/online-game behavior.

            Hey Saureco.

"Preclude" means to prevent or prohibit. I think you meant "prelude", but that's the wrong part of speech. Preface. That's the word your looking for. . .let me preface this by saying blah blah blah.

We are in a forum. A forum is, by definition, a place where people get together to exchange ideas and converse over topics of interest. This forum has thankfully been organized into rooms where specific topics within certain categories can be discussed. Bugs, gameplay, recruiting, and off-topic babble are some of such categories. And with such organization comes administration. The hosts of this site and forum have willingly taken time out of their lives to provide us with a resource to discuss all things BF2. We owe it to them to follow their rules and obey a certain amount of etiquette.

So why the #$%& are so many smacktards running rampant?

We could blame the admin, but that's not fair as only so many people can watch so many boards and read through X number of threads at any given time. The smacktard-to-admin ratio is just too high.

We could blame the mature members of the community. Please note that I make no reference to age, as even young members can exhibit maturity while even adults can digress into childish rants and namecalling. But we all know that the mature members can only restrain themselves for so long, and the desire to participate and respond to a potentially enriching thread is all too intriguing. We inevitably get sucked in.

              So who is left?

The smacktards themselves. It is a small group of members. All it takes to join a forum is to click the "register" button, give an email address (even a free, make-it-in-a-second address), and then respond to activate your new account. After today's barrage of idiocy, logic would indicate that some smacktards have created more email accounts to simply annoy us with increased proficiency.

But why? Why bother? Why annoy people? There is nothing to gain from it. The only reponses you are getting are in written form. We all know you want to be yelled at. We know you want to see the looks on our faces and hear the distress in our voices. But you're selling yourselves short by doing it here. And you're only going to a dubbed-down version of antagonization because you're anonymous here. You know if you tried this in public, where people see the real you, the physical you, that they can lock onto the aggressor, see him, and then alter his physical appearance with a few blows from an enraged fist. Here, you're just another made up account to start threads to disperse crap, scalding comments, and just be an ass. All that trouble to still result to not much.

That's sad. What a pathetic existence. You exist to disrupt. There is no vindication. There is no redemption. There is no justification for your being. You simply participate to disrupt progress. You are the kid the teacher tries to correct, but you take the reprimands as badly needed attention and an opportunity to show your peers you're "cool". You are the young adult who should be off to a good start in life, but you're always coming up short since you just can't seem to connect with people in a proper manner. You are the lost adult who should have found his path in life, but you woke up to the reality that you wasted the first half of life being a **** and are now spending the second half trying to fix it and clean it up.

And now you've come here. You have come to a place where people are trying to make their gaming experience better by trying to teach the new players, report bugs and technical problems, and just try to get to know the community better. But instead of participating in a constructive manner, you have pulled it down. Instead of us taking steps forward and out, you are pulling us back into the caves. You shame us. You embarass us. You don't make us realize that humanity has its idiots, but you make us realize that we haven't done much to correct it. We're not really sad with ourselves. We're just sad that you haven't "gotten it" yet. You haven't acclimated to the world. You don't know how to interact in a way that makes us want to interact more with you. You are stuck around the same ignorant people that they talk about in standup comedy and political discussions. Get away from them, fix your problems, and then come join us.

We'll be here for you. Until then, please don't hit the "New Thread" or "Post Reply" buttons.
Idiots, Kiddies, and Smacktards are the RULE within BF2, NOT the exception.

Playing BF2 on almost any server has become downright pathetic.

I went back to UT2004 last week, havent missed BF2 at all.. My BF2
Disc is now a $40 coaster.

This whole BF2 / EA / DICE / etc.. experience has been a total sham
and a joke. I had heard when I came into the BF2/EA community that
it was going to be like this, but I figured I had seen a lot of that type
of stuff in the UNREAL community before.. but I was wrong! This is
              far worse..

Its a friggin miracle EA stays in business with the way they conduct it..
and I'd be willing to bet without Madden they would have flopped long
ago.. Theyve seen my last dime..

Damn, you think this is bad. Try Sherdog.com, there's about 200 real fans, and about 20,000 idiots who just got done watching The Ultimate Fighter and WWE who want to start a completely useless thread which in part also makes u look like an idiot for being into the same sport. Sorry, MMA fans would only understand this, but my point is that this forum seems to have a lot of nice, helpfull, mature people on it.

Re: Forum maturity, and the lack thereof

Pretty easy to determine why there are so many jerks...
I'd bet my next paycheck that the average age of the posters here is about 14. Sooooo many kids in this game..... and they are slowly ruining it. Can't blame them I guess, they're just kids... but, as a whole and with few exceptions, they seem to be a bunch of morons.
Nowadays, everybody has an agenda. I don't know if that's really a new thing in human nature but I do know that these days everybody thinks that their opinion is worth being heard and (usually) is correct..... god forbid anyone should disagree.. No one respects anyone or anybody's thoughts any longer.
There will always be that group of miscreants that are abusive, stupid, devisive and generally jerks. They are everywhere and very vocal. Oh- and, as a group, they seem to be very fond of BF2 because there seem to be a lot of them no matter what server you join.

So, what to do? Nothing much you can other than to keep to your mostly good behavior and keep your demeanor even. Maybe these jerks just might go on to something else. Lets face it, the attention span of a 12 year old is about 30 seconds anyway.

You could have just said, "You guys are immature, I'm getting the hell out of here" in one sentence instead of writing a whole essay.

I believe you are far to ignorant to the reality of the problem and to moronic to have a discussion about the specific problem, if you believe that is a feasible solution to the problem. You are just as bad as them with your pedantic style of conversation where you achieve nothing by applying your limited brain power to the situation.

To surF3R : That is the whole speach wrapped up nicly in one sentence and he might as well have written that as he doesn't seem to even be able to talk about the problem in a mature and rational manner.

but, you sir, are exceedingly funny. a pleasure to read your posts... (not sarcasm, i get many a chuckle from your stuff, creative indeed. while i am kissing arse, let me add - glasseye > * - )

the lack of maturity could also stem from the fact that there is only so much one can have to talk about over this game. what has been said once has been said over dozens of times. yes, there is new content coming in a week or two - exciting. but how many posts of - this suxzor, or i pwned him, or the cries of plane/tank whore can the mature poster stomach?
