Hey All
I heard that we have a couple ppl that are good at aircraft (planes and helicopters).
Here is the deal ... I have been playing a lil on a created Local Server. The sole purpose was to get me training on flying aircraft and manuevering Vehicles w/o getting blown up. hahaa.
After trying to be a Master Pilot w/ the keyboard and mouse I found that it might be fun to try it with a joystick (I had never owned one). So, after some research, I went out and got a Saitek Cyborg Evo. After configuring the joystick for aircraft and choppers I began practicing. I found that after a lil practice I'm getting pretty good at the Planes. I think that will just be a continual practice with regard to technique and speed control.
ANYWAY ... that isn't my issue at the moment. What I would really like to be able to do is fly a Helicopter well (Blackhawk to be specific). I read a post talking about chopper tactics. The first one I was excited about was "Hovering". It was basically stated that if I just went up on throttle/torque then I would go straight up and hover as long as i don't hit any pitch. This didn't work for me. When I up throttle (with joystick) i begin to rise and go forward. I've also heard it said that when going forward or back wards that by discontinuing pitching (letting go of the keys/stick) I should begin to hover again. This isn't happening. I'm being forced to correct and I am messing up badly.
I feel like everything is too sensitve w/ regard to pitch. I have my sensitivity all the way down on Choppers but still don't feel things are working as they should.
I would very much appreciate any help you ANYONE can give. I know it isn't supposed to be easy but I practiced for an hour just trying to stabilize to a hover and I could NOT get it. I was either pitched left or right too much or up and down too much.
SOOOO. To make a long story short ... should hover work as it was explained to me? How can I make my joystick/flying experience work so that I can at least become proficient (edit .con files??). I have no problem w/ practice practice practice but I feel something is a bit off, ESPECIALLY since I can't get the helo to hover at all. ha.
ANY Help is much appreciated.
