A smart tactical player does, but you can run around aimlessly and get killed all you like...

I've had 2 C4 glitchs, first one is like what everyone has stated. And when you have placed C4 and you can't switch to det. Both are very annoying.

Neither has kept me from getting my expert badge tho. Just finding the people to kill before the map ends is the issue I'm having.

If you weren't a n00b that ran round suicide bombing stuff it wouldn't bother you so much, get some skill with the kit and it won't matter as you will have plenty of time to change it.

Maybe you should plan your attack a little more? The need to rush in and blow something like that - use a buggy or jeep - at least that way you have a chance not to be blown up. Jump out and let it roll up to target - then blow. Do yourself a favor and pull the detonator before you climb in - then it is ready when you jump out without having to switch to it.

I have never accidentally had the detonator come up on me. Then again - I am never in a rush to throw a couple packs and detonate before I can clear the blast area.

If I do get caught with my proverbial pants down (IE dropping c4 packs) - I am usually dead before I can even hit my hotkey for main weap to fight back before I die....or right click to suicide with a detonation.

Sorry to say - not been a problem for me. Guess that is where our play styles differ.

So if I understand correctly this glitch prevents you from reliably using C4 like a hand grenade. Good.

I've had this prob a little bit, but I always figured it was network lag. I've adjusted to it, and it is now no problem. I just wait until I see the detonator. Plus, in the time it takes for you to run away from the target far enough to avoid blowing yourself up, the detonator pops up.

I'd also just like to say that big_sammy_b has the best sig ever.:laugh:

I liked playing specops until the C4 glitch. As we know it does not reliably switch to the detonator. I cant tell how many times I died because the stupid thing doesnt switch to the detonator when it should. I most cases I dont *have* time to wait for the POS to switch right which leaves me with just the ability to blow assets. Anyone else feel the usefulness of specops has been reduced drastically or is it just me?

I encounter this problem often, also, but I think this is just lag, not a glitch. My computer lags a lot, so this happens to me probably more than most people.

And if you need to detonate quick imho your not playing Spec-op properly...

There are occasions when you need to switch to detonator fast, here's an example.

I was in an APC fighting with a Tank. I hit the tank with the TOW, the tank hit me with a shell, the "I'm about to explode" alarm started going off and so I junmped out. The tank was so close to me that he couldn't hit me with either gun (and he had no hatch gunner).

I quickly got out the C4, stuck one to the front of the tank and fortunatley for me, he backed up so he could get a clean shot at me instead of running be over. I hit the deck, switched to detonator and blew his a$$ up.

I was acutally surprised that it worked and I didn't die. But to the point of this thread, I guess I had long enough to switch to det. before I needed to hit the button, around 1 second is plenty of time.

Amazing how such a short story like this can result in such a long post.

im still running around as spec ops and do it better than anyone in the field, just cuz a lil glitch ruined your fun than that means you suck at what you do, i still blow up stuff left and right with the c4, and alone take over a base

All i do now is play SpecOps, i had the issue a while abck but you get used to it. My last round i played it was a 40 man server, round lasted 2.5 hours or more, my team got the win and i got 1st place. Its skill man, dont freakout and start pressing the button over and over, that will not help.

The glitch did not ruin my fun playing the game as a whole. I still play and try, the moment I stop having fun doing something I stop doing it. But it is annoying and to state that I suck at what I do because the game doesnt function the way it should it just stupid to say the least. It is like saying someone is an idiot for slamming into the car in front of him *just* because his brakes didnt work, jeez some logic you have there.:hmm:
