Yes, very played out but you can't really help that with only one game mode.

Many of you seem to be twidling your thumbs waiting for mods but luckily there is already an excellent mod out. PRMM makes this game into a far more intense experience. Download it here www.realitymod.com or check out my comments on this thread. http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38835

Re: Is BF2 getting played out already?

          Hmmmm.
The poll indicates that we need new toys and maps. Otherwise, we'll still drone on and play this thing as it is still.....awesume.
I think alot of us came from playing DESERT COMBAT. A mod for BF 1942. This mod was awesume and really it was an entirely new game altogether.
With Desert Combat, we came to expect new content patches about every 4 months or so.
EA if you read this stuff, you can sell more coppies of this sucker, and expack coppies (and future expacks) by doing this:
Let a map maker, and a couple modelers/skinners develope some new content. Nothing major mind you, but a new gun here and there, new statics, and vehicals. Hell you proballly got some cool stuff just laying around the office to release if you wanted to. Anyways, make a few things every few months and release it as a "CONTENT PATCH". This will make your game a "new game" every so often. You get new buyers, and retain your old ones, (the ones who will buy your next game and expacks).
In short throw us a bone. YOu'd be surprised what releaseing, one new weapon for each army, 2 or so different buildings or textures/sounds, everyonce in a while can do to your fan base. In short, become and operate like a mod team. Why do you think mods are cool anyways? Cuz they release new content everyonce in a while. Least thats my thought process.

Screw EA, the community is doing a better job already. Check out some of the work by ABR - www.bf2scripts.com

Re: Is BF2 getting played out already?

              lol, i hear ya Iron....

but still if EA started to run operations (on some games) more like a modding team, i strongly believe the results would unreal to them. In money, and gaining even more consumers.
As it is now, most of EA's consumers are not EA consumers by choice. Mainly because there are few and fewer every day mind you, choices, as they are buying up pretty much any competition. You either buy EA games, or dont play games. Or at least thats how its getting.
Personaly i think Video card companies or other hardware companies, Intel, AMD, whatever should start up PC Game Developing Studios. Because as it is now, EA, it seems is slowly but surely streaming everything to consoles. And that means less cashola for these PC companies. At least thats how it seems.
I know if i were CEO of Nvidia, or Intel, whatever, i would seriously consider that. Lets face it, the jobs they save might be their own. And really have you read the typical EA's thought process on EA themselves? It seems its a crap company to work for. Therefore a new startup (with plenty of cash) game studio shouldnt have trouble finding quality developers.

As you can see, I haven't played much lately or even at all when I only averaged .5 hours a day. It's pretty sad when roughly every 5th map I played, I got a medal, and that includes the times I spent afk or just ****in around.

Most of the people in this game suck hind tit at flying, generally speaking. There is a huge ass gap between the very good and the average air jockey, and then there is a very finite amount of players that fall into the very good catagory. Just because a person can succesfully drop bombs, does not make him good at flying, they need to be able to shoot other **** down with great success in order to be considered any good and a complete package, and that is where the gap begins.

Back to where I left off with my last post...

                I forgot one...

-Point System. How f.uckin gay can you get? Someone that is actually trying to win the map has to compete with some ****in idiot tossing ammo/medic bags out for first place, WTF? They took a very simple and succesful formula and managed to **** it up, and that simple formula was to give points to the players that are actually contributing to the win. It is cool as **** that they added points for kill assist and flag defense, but for tossing out bags of ****, get real.

-Stat padding. EA-Dice created this problem because they reward people for doing the most mundane ****. Here is a fine example, you get a badge for bailing out of an aircraft and floating in your parachute for more than ten seconds Nice. I am sure EA and Dice have plans to give out an afk badge in the near future. You can easily get first place by a long shot just from tossing **** to other players and never taking a shot at the enemy or coming within 50 yards of a flagpole, gay.

                -Game Types. Conquest only?

-Wall Bug. After having this same problem for two previous games, they still haven't fixed this, even with their 'updated' Refractor engine? I'm starting to think that the only real updates to the engine were the physics models, commander mode, new jet hud, improved network code when walking on a static model and forcing some video options on players that used to be optional. I don't think they actually truly optimized or fixed anything.

Did I say 'I forgot one' earlier, guess I was wrong and it ended up being alot more lol.

I'm actually back to playing Desert Combat until Desert Conflict or BF Pirates is done, as I think the modding community is the only thing that can really breathe the life into this game that should have been there in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, BF2 is a very excellent game with an @ssload of potential, they just didn't go the necessary mile to really bring a three course meal to the table, they brought me a Big Mac Value Meal instead (not even super sized). While a Big Mac is rather tasty, it just isn't very filling for very long and leaves you wanting for more later on.

I really need to work on my potty mouth, I tend to get alot of these **** things in my post :p

What usually happens in most games is opposite in BF2. usually all the smacktards and cskids play for a month and move on, here they ****ing dwell on it for years, I hope that mods like FH and POE come out soon and hope they'd thin out some layers of morons (those who wouldnt know how to install the mod is a good begining) - Personnally I havent played BF2 since july (except for 10 minutes of checking the 1.03 "patch"), it just wasent enough to keep me interested like BF42/DC/POE.

Especially about vehicle loadout. There are no vanilla BF armour maps, like Eastings in DC, even BF42 had maps like El Al and Tobruk (mass armour charge by the Germans at the start) How often were you on foot on Desert Shield? or El Al? (apart from when your tank got fecked )

DC had so much more variety, dedicated armour maps, dedicated Airpower maps and varied infantry battles (BE- mix of infantry and light armour, LV- blend of infantry and airpower, Bunkers- objective assault/defence)

BF2 maps seem like roughly the same theatre of combat in different places. The variety is lacking.
exactly how i feel about bf2, it just doesnt seem to be holding me as much as good old desert combat could, even the vanilla bf1942 held me longer because of the variety, i know that bf2 was never meant to be DC 2 but desert combat did basically lay the foundations for bf2

oh and i miss the binoculars :p

Hi im not bored with it yet but it it hasnt grabbed me like the original 1942 did that was a classic, and when the mods come out for it DC DCX etc it was even better.
Just have to wait and see some of the mods in development look awesome, im still undecided about BF2SF could be much of the same.

The question came up - "Is BF2 getting played out", and is the level of on-line interest dropping already? It seems the attention span of gamers is getting shorter (not that this is a bad thing - could just be indicative of the cornucopia of new and interesting games and platforms that are available.)
                          Your thoughts?
yes - getting a little bored and none of my friends are playing this game. the expansion should help a little...but i hear eq2 calling again...

I usually play some BF2 about once a day, and already, I'm either first of second on the leaderboard just about every round. So, its feeling a little too easy. I see a lot of people scoring 80+ points on maps. People are figuring out how to dominate, and doing that for so long gets boring!

Maybe I'll have to start playing with another class or something.
Now when did your placement on the player leaderboard actually decide that a game is too easy to master?? lol. That decides your SCORE VS OTHER PLAYERS. Your post really doeset make any sense at all.. "Im so much greater then everyone else, so the game is too easy to to master" lol omg.

Play infantry more because it seems like the ones that are saying they ge teh highest points are the vehicle users and what do you espect when you are uing armor all the time. You are going to get bored because it presents almost no challenge in getting points. Be infantry and then we'll see how easy you rack up those points. I have heard many say they are so good at it, but I have yet to see some people with actual good k/d ratios when it comes to small arms and not from just one game. I have yet to also see good infantry players altogether.

You don't have much choice but to play infantry in this map, otherwise we wouldn't be saying the vehicle loadout is weak lol.

Wanting more content in a game really isn't too much to ask for, especially when alot of content was the norm from their previous two games.
