Patch 1.04 being tested online NOW!

This looks like a new patch is being tested for BF2 possibly 1.04? Its a newer version than 1.03 and its definitely not SF expansion its BF2 vanilla.

Anyone remember me saying "Mark my words: There will be another patch"?

If ya do... er, maybe you can help me remember which thread I posted it!

          1.1.2551.0.

They're playing on 1.04 which is why the server is red since it's an incompatible version. It's possible that they're using an older version, but I think 1.04 makes more sense.

I'm sure I read somewhere (maybe the BF2Tracker forums) that before the release of BF2:SF there'd be a patch/hotfix.

errr . . . the version you see in the top right is 1.03 as it's the op's client and NOT what the server is testing . . .

That is 1.03 in game. The screen was taken from his client, which is 1.03. What's interesting there is that a non-1.03 version is being run at the EA RS Lab.
Now, why would they be testing an old version?
The straight VF2 client shouldn't be able to see a SF server.

This gives us a good clue that they are, in fact, running a test server for a new patch!

Now, this could just be a patch to make sure that a straight BF2 will still be able to connect to a SF upgraded sever that is running non-SF maps. It doesn't nessasaraly contain any of the fixes we want.

                But then again, it could!

1.1.2552-344.0 - That's the version they're testing. Same as the version used for testing BF2:SF.

                    Exactly

When I clicked on it to join it says it was a newer version. Version number for 1.03 is 1.1.2551 This version is 1.1.2552 Next time its up probably again tomorrow I will get more info and take a screenie of the version number.

They also have 2 test servers for SF
Server Name IP Port Map Players Game Value
                    1 EARS Online Lab Mark 2 159.153.1.168 16567 devil's perch [ 0/64 ] bf2 1.1.2552-344.0
                    2 EA East Coast Map Rotation 159.153.234.181 16568 zatar wetlands [ 0/32 ] bf2 1.1.2552-344.0

See the version number is 1.1.2552 ingore the 344.0 that would be the expansion pack number, but you can see that there is definitely a new version being tested, our version 1.03 is 1.1.2551 also see the new map devil's perch for the SF expansion.

Not a big leap though, from 2551 to 2552. Wouldn't get your hopes up.

Yup I know it will be a hotfix, I don't expect many changes either.

                          Here.
it is a newer version than ours.
They will be upgrading it everyday as soon as they update something.

Hotfix from EA/Dice..."congrats to all, we thought we would release a hotfix for the AA people are still complaining about...so we worked hard just to make sure that in this hotfix, the AA works even better to shoot down your own team's aircraft, and not the enemy helicopter hovering just above you!"
