Just upped all my settings to high

I did it last night with almost no FPS or performance drop. I was so happy and i noticed an immediate difference on how much better things looked.

All video settings on high (except for AA, none of that) and audio is on Hardware and High, EAX enabled.

Dude...up your AA to at least X4...no AA is like buying Mercedes and not paying extra for Leather seats.

Moreover, if you have crappy headphones...go with a lower quality sound...if you're worried about performance.

If you've had it awhile what the hell have you been waiting for? There's more than enough power for high settings.

Dude...up your AA to at least X4...no AA is like buying Mercedes and not paying extra for Leather seats.

Moreover, if you have crappy headphones...go with a lower quality sound...if you're worried about performance.

I have x800 and 1 gig and I can run on high. I usually run on medium, so map loads faster. With 2 gigs won't be a problem for all high

You should be running 4x AA also. My system is slightly slower than yours and I run 4x AA (all settings high, 4x AA, Hardware sound on high with EAX enabled).

I get lower frame rates on levels with mroe players but with no players (which is no lag) it runs at 60 most of the time. IT looks much better.

My Prescott runs at about 36-39 idle and 47-53 load.

My computer can handle all high with AA and get about 50-60fps, but I'd rather play on all low (with effects still on High, of course), and pull off that 90fps mark.

When it comes down to it, seeing things better won't make you a better player, but having a higher fps can certainly help match your reflects, =)

For some settings, there is almost zero "visual" difference between medium and high, but a decent difference in frame rate.

Check out the article and see which settings have little effect on quality (and can be cycled to medium or low) and setting which ones to high actually improves graphic quality.

I run all mine on med except for Geometry(high) & 2x AA. Geometry draws things in the distance faster. So if you have a guy with 100% view & med Geometry & a guy with 100% & high Geometry. The one with high geo will have that split second advantage. If I had another gig of RAM, I would probably go all high. I have 2.6 P4, 1gig RAM, ATI x850xt. On med, I sure like the 99fps on foot. When I am gunning in a jeep doing 70mph, I get about 55fps. And that is on 64 player maps. If I played on 32 or less player maps I could max out graphics no problem. I love my x850xt. Didn't like the price, but...... LOL When I bought the game I had a nvidia Geforce fx 5200. It ran bf2 great on low settings, med textures, 1024x768. 64 player maps is all I play. The low fps though just kills the game .... & your eyes!

I'm always confused by those who want more than 60fps since your eyes can't distinguish between frame rates speeds any higher than that.

60fps looks just like 999fps to your eyes. I guess its bragging rights though. :shrug:
