    Re: Building a Computer...

    Two recommendations or considerations:

    1) What about the Abit AN8-Ultra over the dfi. it is cheaper and are quality boards, although the dfi is a quality board too. just a thought.

    2) What about a sli motherboard. For not that much extra, you can get NF4 sli motherboard. Later down the track you can buy another 6800gt and almost double you graphics processing power, assuming there are no other bottlenecks in the system. The more time goes on, the cheaper the cards get and it will not cost that much to buy another card.

    Just a thought

The DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D and SLI-DR are the best motherboards out there. The only thing that DOESN'T work with the motherboard is Corsair ValueSelect RAM. Anything else will fly on it. I haven't ever seen any PSU problems with it. Its simply the best motherboard out there and simply the best for overclocking. I've built 4 systems using the Ultra-D and 2 systems using the SLI-DR and they've all been amazing.

              Re: Building a Computer...

Its PERFECT. Go with the OCZ Value Series. XMS is pretty much useless; It doesn't overclock well at all, and it you're looking for non-overclocking RAM, you should get the ValueSelect series. Expensive RAM is supposed to be for overclocking.

You NEED BOTH a fan and heatsink. The XP-90 is a good choice, then you'll need to buy a 92mm fan to go with it.

Doesn't matter a whole lot. BFG, EVGA, Leadtek, XFX are good brands. However I have heard customer support from XFX is horrid.

Yes the plain 6800 will keep your systrm from being "insane".

Also to be nit-picky AMD CPUs don't have HT. It's HTT which is completely diffrent from HT.
