EA/DICE need to immediately release a patch to stop the damn engineer whores.
C'mon, the engineer class is much to powerful when compared to the other classes it makes me sick. Their rate of repair is way too fast and should be slowed considerably - maybe 25% of the current rate. And getting five AT mines from the get-go should be reduced to 2. I'm tired of engineers laying mines everywhere and racking up points. And their guns, way too powerful. And don't get me started on their ability to snipe me from clear across the map.

The reload time of their standard shotgun should be increased dramatically and, at most, the jackhammer should only be able to fire 3 rounds in a clip and they should only have 12 rounds total. On the rare occasion when my integrity slips and I find myself as an engineer I never run out of ammo.

Engineers also need to be punished more for blowing up their own vehicles. Maybe they need to have -10 points for each person in the vehicle and -10 for the vehicle itself. And while they are at it, EA/DICE should reward the person who drives over their teammates AT mine since they were unjustly penalized by both dying, losing their mates, and losing the vehicle they patiently waited for - how about +10 for the driver and +5 for each passenger when TK'd by an engineer.

This all too powerful class needs nerfed considerably and, if not taken care of quickly, I'm considering boycotting the SF expansion pack and going back to playing Pong on my 13 inch b/w tv.

I would play engineer much more if my teammates had half a brain
and didnt run right into my mines.. and I even try to put them in
areas where the enemy is more likely to go rather than teammates.

Your complaint is unfounded , imo.

Heres my idea for the next patch........ DELETE PUNISHING ALLTOGETHER. Its horrible.

Okay, I agree that my degree of wit was a bit low but it was interesting to see the responses it garnered. As for taking my original post seriously, the Pong comment at the end should have given it away but going back that far may have dated me and not been a good hint to those not around for, arguably, the first home "computer" game.

I was so excited about being rewarded for fixing stuff after hundreds of hours fixing the carriers in BF1942: Coral Sea with the only reward being a win in the end. Unfortunately, being and engineer in BF2 presents less reward than about any other class as anyone who has played the class should know. However, the value of the engineer in the big picture (winning the game as opposed to racking up points) is great so I guess I have to be happy knowing that my contributions helped the team win.

PS - Wake/Dalian/Oman, grab a wrench and jump in the Phalnx/AA on the ship. With some skill you'll keep the baddies from spawn camping the ship.
