    Re: Your 'perfect' squad

Dosen't matter what kits for me as long as they are all good team players it works. For example I played for 7 hours with this one sqaud back when I had the demo becasue we were so good together, all had VOIP and were flexible. Kits don't really matter because as long as you have good players you set.

      Re: Your 'perfect' squad

I find it crazy how many squads don't include assualt. Tha grenade launcher is DEADLY and the rifle is great.
My ideal squad is, for grunt work:

(in rank of importance, add the next one down on the list as you add more players)
2 medics. Revive each other if they go down OR if they both go down, you have two medic kits you can pick up.
2 Assualt, mainly, but AT as necessary. Assault is the deadliest kit with the grenade launcher.
1 support, to resupply the grenade launchers and for suppression fire.
      1 dedicated AT.

Now, I am of the belief that a squad should be versatile and change with whatever their goal is. But, for general purpose grunt work, I believe this to be the best. The support and medics give you the ability to lay suppression fire OR "snipe" (with the l85). Switching in AT for vehicle maps for the assualt gives you the ability to be a threat to almost any land vehicle.

Obvisouly, if you are going to drive vehicles around, engineers becomes the most important, then medics. (so 2 engy 2 medic, after that, assualt or AT).

Yeah, No one would stay dead, You could take out enemy armor, you could take out enemy commander assets, and you would never run outta ammo =)

SL as Support Gunner backed up by a medic. The rest as the situation demands divided in two fireteams. Everybody on VOIP. A responsive commander giving commands and communicating.

And finally: all having fun playing.

              Squad break downs:
              The "perfect" squad doesn't exist.
Good squads should be based on their role. Now, I know not many people actually take on roles when they are playing, but really, that's the key to success.

Anyway, here's a page from a guide I've written up for the guys I play with.

              Assault 6 man
              SL: Supply
              Medic
              Assault X2
              Spec Opps
              Anti-armor
Role: Attack and over power check points.
Best Vehicle use: Transport choppers, mixed APC and ground transports

              Holding Squad 4 man
              SL: Support
              Anti Tank X2
              Medic
              Role: To keep/defend captured CPs.
Best Vehicle use: AA, ground transports with .50 cal, APCs, whatever is on hand.

              Mobile Opps 4 man
              SL: Support
              Spec Opps X2
              Medic
Role: A rapid deployment squad for doing special opperations such as "deep stikes" (going for flags way behind enemy lines) or destruction of command assets. Can also be used to re-enforce any other squad.
Best Vehicle use: Fast moving ground transports, boats (if they can reach the objective), captured enemy assets.

              General Support 3 man
              SL: Support
              Medic
              Engineer
Role: To be a mobile support where ever needed. Should be able to move quickly to back up any other squad.
Best Vehicle use: Fast ground transport. *note, if you can use a vehicle where you can have the Engineer in the back able to toss out mines, DO IT! Nasty tactic.

              Armored Cavalry 2 man
              Engineer X2
Role: To become the iron fist on the battle field. The squad should be able to work together to fix each other's vehicles.
              Best Vehicle use: TANKS!

              Air Support 2 man
              SL/Pilot: Supply
              Engineer
Role: To provide tactical ground support from the air. The mix of Support and Engineer provides good backup for ground forces if needed.
              Best Vehicle use: Attack chopper.

Air Superiority 2 man (or however many planes are on the map)
Kits don't really matter in this case.
Role: To provide tactical air domination and provide ground support as needed.

You might notice that I've placed the Squad Leaders in Support kits fairly often. There's a couple very good reasons for this. A) They have good armor and are likely to stay alive longer. B) They are slow moving, so you don't have to worry about outrunning your squad. C) The support role is best used slightly removed from the front lines anyway. Again, this ups survivability.

So there ya go. As I mentioned, this is taken from our "play book". If you learn these squad breakdowns and play with enough buddies to fill 'em out, it makes a great reference. People know what kits they should take and what they should be doing on the field.

I agree. You can have a squad with perfect composition but if members don't understand the mission or are just ordinary players then it won't matter much.

                    6 in a squad.

                    2 medics.
                    2 anti-tank.
                    1 assault.
                    1 support.

                      Re: Your 'perfect' squad

Depends on the map and the prevalence of enemy vehicles, squad role, how they intend to move etc...

A good all round squad would be:

                      2x Medic
                      1x Support
                      1x Anti Tank
                      1x Spec Ops
                      1x Assault

The medics and support are crucial, the others can be swapped out depending on squad role etc.

                      For city map infantry ownage:
                      2x Medic
                      1x Support
                      1x Assault
                      1x Assault
                      1x Assault

                      Anti Tank:
                      2x Medic
                      1x Support
                      1x Anti Tank
                      1x Anti Tank
                      1x Spec Ops

Mobile Infantry, ie cruising around in an APC:
                      2x Medic
                      1x Support
                      1x Engineer
                      1x Assault
                      1x Assault

                      Blah, blah...

                          Re: Your 'perfect' squad

The classes of a "perfect squad" varies from map to map.

But the general core, for all maps should be:
                          2 medics
                          1 support
And the squadleader should be assault, spec ops or sniper - to cover the squad as they rush in.
Also, for most maps, 1-2 AT soldiers is a good ace
