If you ask me, I hate karkand, the reason I got this game was because the big maps, vehicles and infantry, good graphics. NOT SQB action.

If I want SQB like in karkand, I go play Americas army, but much better SQB

I would also add two more things that adds to why it's not fit

-People hopping around thinking they're bunnies
    -nametags on people
They should have all of the above, right? Look at a game like Planetside. It has massive outdoor battles, long-range air campaigns, detailed indoor combat, and even an underground area where conflicts have an impact on the surface battle. Every aspect supports the primary gameplay goals, allowing everyone (and every style) to contribute - and the expansions add content to existing gameplay so everyone can still play side by side.

To the infant critic. Go play Strike at Karkand and try shooting the MEC running around far far off in the distance with your G3. Then reload. Then try again. And again. I'll be here.

And I think no one hides behind stuff for too long because a nade will kill em all.

the G3 isn't ment to take out people in the far distance, it's a medium to short range weapon , with an M16 you can take out enemy's on far far distance in two bursts

Re: BF2 Engine is not fit for BF2:SF

agreed planet side was a good game. I played it from beta to a while in retail. the issue is it wasn't worth the 12.99 US every month. half of that sure, but it's just a FPS with no missions or quests to speak of, the enemies decided where the battles are, what happens. and the expansion did add some, however while paying that 12.99 a month, your then forced to pay another $40 if you want to access the extra content, and there's two expansions. it was also missing any kind of support class, no ammo givers, medics or engies. It was all 24/7 frag frag frag. Thats why I went to play WoW so I didn't have to be twitching every 5 seconds. thats why I like BF2, I get some combat, with some other tasks. and seeing how most gamers in any genre or platform are kill hungry selfish heros I like playing BF2 cause almost no one else thinks to stop fighting to repair the commander assests, or defending a point. Though some of that has changed in BF2 with the patch thank god. I'm pro lowered unlocks, heck I don't like the unlock system, I came from games where after mods, you have over 100 weapon kits. I like a level playing feild, for newbie to master. That was something else planet side did better and worse. sure you chould unlock a tank right off the bat, but thats all you could get, untill that next level. that why people left, cause they didn't have the time to EVER EVER EVER get access to most of the vehicles, nevermind the crazy armour.

Heck planetside aside from the numbers of players was inferior to tribes, which had power stations controling various sheilds in the main base that you'd have to get to, facilities with 1-2 entrances, which meant a co-ordinated rush, or co-ordinated defence would win the day, or some hecric stalemates.

I think the only thing BF2:SF is missing is lean, aside from that I can deal with everything else. name tag popping up, uhhhh use cover, if they enenmy has his cursor over you it means your either seen or they know where you are abouts, and have found you in concealment.

I have to sort of agree with the thread starter making bf2 into an sf game wont realy work as sf are steahtly they attack by suprise they go behind the enemy line sometimes fastly out numbered. As someone else mentioned it is proberly just a marketing tool to make everyone think wow its gonna be so cool which it proberly will be but itll proberly be just more infantry based with cooler weapons thats all.

All I can say is... wait a month or two after it comes out, see if a lot of people complain or a lot of people cheer about it

Nice thread I guess. Well if I agreed with anything you said. Since your entire post is just about 80% inaccurate I think SF will be just fine.

Don't get me wrong here, I own everyone in BF2, I just don't think it's realistic enough for an expansion with infantry vs infantry only combat (maybe with 1 or 2 vehicles thrown in there), it just won't be fun.

btw, if you think you're so good, go play AA, that is what will show your true FPS skills, not some crazy shoot were you can bunny hop and throw grenades 3 meters in front of you and they won't even hurt you

I agree with him. I dont know where you get guns are too weak,no accuracy, etc. Me thinks you just suck.
Don't hate the game, hate yourself because you can't play.

Because the accuracy of the guns are cra*p!!!! look at the PKM or M249 there is no realistic recoil it's more like a circular motion it's random!
I think BF:SF looks pathetic anyways it's just for the kiddies to cream their pants because it has Special Forces in...wow SAS but look at the SAS for BF2:SF since when have they looked like that and when have they been that chunky!?
and talking about accuracy Alex yours pretty much show your skills on the battlefield so I'd take the mention of someone sucking at shooting

Re: BF2 Engine is not fit for BF2:SF

they say there is alot more "INSIDE" type maps.
So saying its a darker karkand..........is about retarded. Since Karkand is outdoors.

SF will have alot of battles, "flags" tucked away inside of warehouses and complex's. Meaning, you aint getting a tank, helo or whatever in there to cap. You will have to use squads to successfully venture in to take a flag. And tear gas, flashbangs and what not.
                      Read alittle more.

-It takes 50 million bullets to take someone down. Either change the damage guns do or change the amount of health people have

-guns feel like they shoot pellets. The accuracy on them sucks so much that everyone thinks they could just sprint out in the open and won't get shot because they WON'T because these guns just have horrible accuracy.

-there is no such thing as firefights in BF2 because no body hides behind obstacles because they know that if they get shot, they will just respawn again in 15 seconds.

these are just some of the points.

basically BF2 is way to fast paced for BF2:SF to actually be fun. BF2 was made for vehicle and infantry warefare.

If you want stealthy, tactical action, play AA or wait for AA3.0 or play Operation Flashpoint.
Why exactly are fragile soldiers a good thing? Sure, something needs to be done about the netcode, but otherwise, it's perfectly fine. And you will most definelty get shot if you try to run accross the open. If by no one else, then by my AT rocket.

Either way, you're looking at this the wrong way. Basically, the height of BF2 is ground, squad-based combat. They are right to change the game to emphasize this.
