well i finally got to have a go of call of duty 2 retail (thanks to some mail order action)
... meh

has any1 else had a go yet... i just kinda felt it was tired and nothing exceptional.... that and it is very unrealistic... health thing sucks balls (only a monkey could die)

what every1's thoughts? cant find a review yet and was wondering if anyone else feels the way i do - BF2 raped our sense of acceptance in gaming... its like even though i am bored to hell with bf2 i cant help but really notice when playing games without some of their key features... and graphics... and control system...

I will find out tomorrow as gamestop gets it tomorrow. I am happy to hear it has been optimized better and runs ALOT better then it did. Now I just have to wait and see how it will do on my machine. I wish my new 7800GTX was here but I won't be getting that until Thursday or Friday

It's ok, I've been busy with Quake 4 and now im playing through FEAR.

Lookin forward to some COD2 :)

I can't wait for it. I'm a huge fan of the original.

I hope they keep EVERYTHING almost the same:

one shot one kill sniper rifles

all other balance things, because the original was excellently balanced. I don't want to see thompsons totally madly powerful etc.

I also want all the original maps in - nostalgia is a powerful thing.

Loved it, excapt for the damage system .I hate how your life regenerates. Makes the entire thing incredibly easy on vetran.

thats exactly my thoughts - the fact you can charge a whole group, get completely nailed whilst smg'in at point blank, grill them all and go and duck behind a rock for 2 min until you can do it all over again kind of ruins it for me.... and i dont know about "base assault" only got to play it singleplayer (no multiplayer servers up)...

There better be all the same Game modes, most notably:

CTF
TDM
BAS and the rest.

The game features Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Headquearters, and Search and Destroy.
