The Jackhammer beats the pump-action all day long. You can use it on semi-auto but it shreds peeps when you use it in bursts. If you play the eng. a lot I would highly suggest you unlock it.

If you ask me the anti tank shot gun unlock is a far better gun and you get 5 extra shells to play with. Personally I hate playing engineer I always end up with alot of unwanted TK's because of land mines.

I go by what ya get in the kit.
Yea, Theyre both shotguns. But then again, In the engineer kit you can destroy tanks, and repair vechiles, Anti tank has just a anti tank rocket launcher.

      So id take the Jackhammer.
But i love the pump action shotguns, espically the Chinese one. Its just funny when ya hit someone at close range the way they just drop.

The pump shotguns do 25 damage per pellet with 8 pellets. The Jackhammer does 15 damage per pellet with 8 pellets. Both have 7 rounds.

If you can aim, the 25x8 is better. If you can't, 15x8 with the ability to fire more rapidly makes more sense.

When against multiple opponents, you can die in between pumping action....full or semi-auto helps a lot, especially when aiming.

The only thing I can say is I find myself at lose in the middle of a fire figt when I have to reload my Jackhammer but thats what pitols are for. Besides I'd rather reload that then DAO-12.

Not really different than reloading most of them. But your right, the pistol is only a click away.

The Jackhammer is good for 2 kills, maximum. Then you have to dance for 8 seconds while you reload.

The pump can kill up to 4, with brief pauses in between each round. It's much easier to stick and move for 1 second than 8.

Just my experience and preference. If you think your style and choice of weapon are successful, please continue to evangelize - but most players who can effectively line up a shot and take it will prefer the pump shotgun over the less-damaging, shorter-winded Jackhammer.

2 kills max my ass... i can get 5 guys in a row wit that gun... specially on karkand.. bam bam bam (wa?) bam bam bam bam. (gun rules on close quarters combat, specially when going for the first flag)they dont even notice when you get there. practice wit ur gun n u'll learn to trust it n it'll do the work for u... the reload suks but u should already kno to take cover when you are or withdraw from battle. if you practice enough wit that gun u wont regret it. pump action is good too, but only when you're 2vs1 or 1vs1. cuz wit the jackhammer its just plain hamerin  (lol that didn't make any sense..)
its over so quick (cuz of the full-auto) they dont notice wher u shot them from till they drop. anyways practice wit that gun n ull be accused of aimbot hackin n stuff...

5 kills? Man I was playing last night at it took at least 3 shots from the Jackhammer to kill someone and I was right next to them.

It's rather irritating that the engineer's unlock isn't strictly superior to all the other weapons available to the engineer that aren't unlocked weapons. Is this true for other classes as well? Oh well. I guess that just means we have to watch what team we're on.

If you doubleclick the shots of the jackhammer when it's not in automatic mode, you can get the same effect the pump shotgun gets in a single shot and not need to pump between shot cycles. Of course, you get half the number shot cycles between a full reload. How many shots can the enemy get out in the time it takes to doubleclick versus the time it takes to single click?

All in all, it's hard to say the pump shotgun is superior than the jackhammer. I guess it depends on what you're up against. If you're against a dispersed group of enemies the pump shotgun is probably better. However, if you're up against a group of enemies in close proximity to each other, you'll probably prefer the jackhammer. Which happens more often?

I've had that same experience too. I heard somewhere it takes 3 shots to the head to kill someone, 7 shots to the body to kill someone without armor, and 10 shots to the body to kill someone with armor. To be honest, however, I notice it often takes 2 headshots to take someone down. I've gotten people with one shot before too but that could be because they were already damaged.

I highly doubt you got 5 kills. If you did, it happened once under extraordinary circumstances, but that's it.

I looked at your stats. You have played for 10 hours with the shotgun, but only have 253 kills and 278 deaths. Do you honestly expect us to take your claims seriously?

It's mostly personal preference and, like you said, situational.

On a fun note, I have (on 2 separate occasions) killed two people with one blast from the M11-87. Some of the pellets hit the first guy in the head and killed him, and the remaining pellets went past his corpse and hit the guy behind him. It's rare, but is an indication of the sheer killing power housed in the pumps.

The only way to get 5 kills from a single magazine is if they are all unarmored and all pellets hit or you got a lot of headshots. It takes at least 2 shots to the body to kill an armored soldier. I still like it better than the pump guns though; I always get killed after the first shot with a pump gun.
