I love playing medic, but I do agree with you variable, when playing city maps I do feel as though I am all alone and the only person who heals/revives others.
On some servers as soon as I join and play medic I am almost immediately invited into 2 or 3 different squads because they have no medics themselves.

Support is kind of worthless but always fun and you can get a lot of ammo points.

How can a class that supplies ammo be useless??

I tried playing medic yesterday and i gotta say i liked doing it, playing AT all the time is nice and all, but still.. Ill be playing support roles more often from now on.

I'm not sure if the revised ranking system caused it, but I can't find more than 1-2 medics on a given 16 person team - even on maps like Karkand.

When I do find Medics they're not the "help the team" kind, but more of the "I like using health to keep myself alive longer" kind. I don't blame people who play Medic the latter way, but I'd like to have at least 1 medic on our team who is watching our backs.

Did all of you real medics give up the kit now that you don't have to farm points anymore?

the only class I play is a medic.I have a horrible K/D ratio because I go for the revives and healing rather than the kills.If a teammate is killed, I run through gunfire and try to revivie, even if it means i forfeit my life..thats what it is all about.being a medic is all about being a team player and making sure your squad stays healed and alive..thats how i look at it.

I stopped bein a medic recently for the most part... there's just absolutely no trace of teamwork... out of 20 revives.. i might get 1 thank you.. that little push and click makes a WORLD of difference to me.. and probably a lot of other people.. if i see a dude way off far away from me with nobody else around and make a mad dash for him and rescue his sorry but.. the least he could do is take the half second to say "thanks, i owe you one" anyways... thats why i just go do my own thing now... and dont really stop to revive or run out of my way... i hate inconsiderate pricks... and the support folks are even worse! i was playin a game.. and there were like SIX support people.. a couple other guys and myself were all spamming "running dry, need ammo" and not a single one of them dropped ammo! even when we were standing right in front of them yelling it... i hate people...

Uriel, people like that aren't team players or they may be new and not know the ropes yet...regardless i can see how it gets annoying..I revive people as much as possible and I seldomly get a TY..I think it may be becuase they are returning gunfire or just dont think of it..I dont let it bother me though..I know I helped out by reviving a teammate.:)

I plan on starting to play more as a Medic as i have an unlock available and i am thinking in choosing the L85.(i´ve tried it , picking it up from dead medics and find that playing as a medic can be fun if you´re in a good squad )
As i see it , there are a lot of people playing as a Medic , but if you need them you have to shoot them in the leg with a pistol to get their attention .
Last night i was in cover waiting for the artillery rain to stop falling with three (3) !!!!Medics and i had to shoot one to get a medpack .(after yelling "Medic Here!" some 6 times )

PS: Even when it endangers me i make a point of saying thank you when i get ammo , or a medpack or a revive .

I'll go medic if there isn't one in the squad I'm joining. I am a fan of the L85 because of its single shot accuracy. But usually there's at least one in the squad, so I'll go with my old spec ops routine. Kill, kill, blow up.

I play medic most all the time, I join a server go medic and check the team if I see a lack in say AT players I go AT but if the team seems even with classes I stay medic.

If you want medics, come join my squad! I usually play with 2 friends, who both are medics. . .I play as assault (used to play medic, but three seemed to be a bit much) and we almost always stick together. I love running in, taking out two or three bad guys, getting killed, two medics come in, clean up whoever I left over and then fight to revive me. It's pretty sweet.

I never seem to have a shortage of medics.

try karkand. majority of the players there are medics.

not true..as far as im concerned and the time i played this map... i say 75% of people playing this map have the noob tube M203, 10% is sepc ops, 5%anti-tank 5%sniper and 5%medic -->im 90% one of them. so when i die, no medic is likely to be in my area... so if im not there we are likely to lose.(check my win ratio in my maps played(i never switch team if we lose like a noob))

There has been less people playing medics I have noticed recently as well and the ones that are ignore you, 3 times last night I was ignored.
Twice I was running behind a medic, low on health shouting "I need a medic here" about 5 -6 times they just kept on running so I shot them in the back with a pistol to get there attention, they just kept on running so I gave up.

Then I was killed and a medic ran past me! I was like WTF get back here and revive me you fool, but no more interested in getting himself killed than helping the team.

Im sure you do it with good intensions, but unless you, and the one your reviving is in cover.... PLZ DONT.... you'll get yourself killed, and the one you revived AGAIN.


I cant count how many times ive been dead (still getting my dead corpse shot ).. all of a sudden an (very confused) "good samaritan" appears to revive me all the while im thinking "no no, plz dont"...

Allright buddy your good to go.. BLAM.. dead again... hopefully the medic is dead too.. otherwise he comes to revive me again

i noticed that myself...the other day i hoped on and downloaded the 1.03 patch and i havent played since like the 26th of august. and im doing fairly well on karkand only getting teamkilled by each death...so i die and im in the middle of about 3-5 of my teamates and i look at the map and im like holy sh!t theres one medic and hes across the way...during 1.02 we cudnt have enough medics....the only real reason i was ever a medic becuase the gun...it was dry with nothing on it....but then the points i figured out were a bonus later on too

I'm back on playing medic. Got my eng to 100h, now I have 55 hours or so to get medic to 100h. I enjoy medic - just hard to get used to not being eng now - lol.
