    Chris.
    It's up to u.
    Usually don't let the software's auto-updates active.
Having a good working FW, AVG and ASPware, u're ok with ur security.
Usually do some specific and recomended updates only.

It still doesn't work, Ahwell i think my pc needs to be cleared, So how can i ''format of ur disk'' & what will i need to save because when i brought my pc new it didn't come with an xp home disc :hmm:

I don't have any discs to stoe data on so is there somewhere on my pc where i can keep them all whilst it's being formated?

if not what discs do i need as i have 4,000 songs i want to keep & don't want to have 100s of discs lying about?

So basically i need to know how, I'm on a xphome/hp pavillion a60.uk, Will this fix the problom..

      Much Much Thanks.

        Re: Pls Pls Help me.

D00d. this should have been your first solution. Sounds like your systems registry has gotten real fugged up. Especially with all of those songs you probably got from limewire(spyware central). If you have a registered copy of XP Home you should get in contact with microsoft and ask them for a new disk. Inform them that you reseller did not give you a disk but you have purchased it. They may redirect you too the dealer you purchased from but they might blindly help you if you give them the right info. AS for backing up your system. That is something only a new HD installed prior your format will be able to do. Try to get ahold of MS or your Comp dealer for some software suport before anything else. I also noticed in this thread that nobody told him where the thread about PB was. This still may be fixed. (doubtful though). Good luck man. I will post again if you get the software... :)

Stick in the XP Home disk and see if you have an option to 'repair'. This will reinstall windows without deleting your personal files. YOu will have to reinstall all your games/apps though.

It'll be hard to achieve something under those conditions.
Do u have any friend how can ask for a loaned hard drive? and a XPwin install disk ?
Without those u'll be in trouble all alone. Seek for help in some store (don't know what's a xphome/hp pavillion a60.uk).
If u can gather those, we'll guide u.

Never tried a repair. I usually just format. I figure if have stuff on your comp you would like to keep you should buy two drives and always be prepared to loose everything.

Ok what one do i tick, Then is that it? If i want to save some songs & programme folders to install again do i just drag them all in one folder then burn that folder to disc? What discs will i need to do this, I'm guessing big..?

Because i'm on xp home & it's not as fast as pro can i buy xp pro then use that when it's formated will this work when it roboots & asks me to install xP?

                Thanks everyone.

                  Re: Pls Pls Help me.

Don't click any of that..... You need to use the XP disc whether it is pro or home is up to you. It is a bootable disc. (depending or not if your bios has the cd/dvd rom as the first boot device.) try it anyway. It will ask you to repair xp first but won't fix your problem. That i will bet on. YOu need to install a new copy and follow the prompts. you come to a point where you have to select the HD to install on. Select the one you have and delete the partition. (u have no crossed the point of no return and everything you have is pretty much gone.) Now just follow the steps. Unfortunately you won't be able to post to use until you are done. You also are goinbg to want you new drivers and your internet info and everything else you will need to "restore" your comp to how it was before you fugged it up. Actually as i post all of this i get a feeling that this might be way too much fro you to do without getting yourself into real trouble. If you know anyone personally, you should get ahold of them :) GL Man

Yes it is a bit too much to do incase i did something wrong :p
Right so, If i now go out & buy win xp pro this will work instead of having the orgiginal xp home right, I have a little xp home sticker on the side of my pc?

                    Chris.

                      Hey Chris

I noticed from your screen shot that you have an HP restore image on your D:\ drive. That will have your windows xp home install but it is in the image. Running the restore from the D:\ will format your computer and return it to the way it was the day you bought it. You will loose all programs and data that was not on the computer when you first pulled it out of the box. SInce you have an HP pc do you still have support from them? If not go to your D:\ drive and run the restore...it should be quite easy. (I have guided 78 year old ladies over the phone on how to fix a computer and the restore is always the last resort...but the cleanest option.

no the problem is that he is not the main user on the computer. If u are not the main account in windows it will not allow u to play online. U have to have adminsters right in windows to be able to play. Windows restricts u from connecting to a server. Ask u parents to give u admin in window.

What he's selling on that link is just an empty box though :)

They're really easy to use. I got one for €100 (160Gb) and I think the smallest is usually about 60Gb. Just plug it in and you're new drive is ready to use. Copy the info accross and you're ready to format !

I will get one then, O.k my music i have alot & does this need cleaning before i put them on my newly cleaned pc?

If i buy a xp pro disk, Will this work when it asks me to insert the xp disk or whatever it does, As i've never done it?

''You may do a full install from a new / formatted hard drive, but you will be required to put in your original operating system disk for a few seconds during installation of XP Pro.''

& Arg i don't have the orig disk & phoning up will take years! This quote was spcified from an xp pro upgrade disk, If i get the full xp pro will i still need the orig home disk?
