    Pls Pls Help me.

When i go to play a game online it makes me wait about 4 minutes whilst it loads
then when it does i get in the game & get booted for ''O/S privilages''

So I ask a few peeps & they said Ad-aware, Admin account, Anti-virus etc So i check all these & cleaned the spyware & it still blocks me.

I went on the punkbuster site & downloaded (or tried) an update.

[10.24.2005 03:29:57] Attempting to download htm\wc001199.htm (please wait)
All the numbers etc then it would say this:
    **ERROR from Web Server: F000

It did this on all the several things it tried to download, Are they not suppose to be ''**ERROR**''

Please try to help me with anything you can on this as i really want to play it.

    Much Thanks Chris. :)

    Re: Pls Pls Help me.

Can you download anything? Or do you get an error when you try to download any files?
Go to www.spywareguide.com and do the free online scan.
You have spyware or a problem with your protocol stack (caused by spyware)

      Hello,

I can download yes, I have ran 3 diffrent spyware programmes & this one is still picking up a load of stuff :hmm:

So i just uninstalled bf2 & cleared all the fils ready for a new install.
      Once that is done.

      bf2_patch_103.exe (171MB)
      bf2_server_103.exe (128MB)
      bf2-linuxded-1.1.2551.0-installer.zip (133MB)

What one do i get to play online with the patch?

it's just finished scanning & picked up about 10 things, What shall i do now?

          bf2_patch_103.exe

The O/S error is a PUNKBUSTER message. The solution has been posted in these forums already.

So are you saying that you got rid of the spyware, reinstalled BF2, applied the patch and you still can't play the game?

Or is it just PB that you can't update due to the "**ERROR from Web Server: F000" error ?

                Hi,

It was saying error when i downloaded, But after the adaware scanned & cleaned it downloaded fine but i still get kicked.

If i formatted C: would this help?

                Thanks.

I keep getting kicked by PunkBuster for "Blocked O/S Privileges"?

Please temporarily disable other security type programs you have running such as anti-virus, process guard, SDProtector, etc. to find out which of them is blocking PB's access to resources on your computer. You either need to run PB without the blocking program(s) or play on non-PB servers. Also make sure you run the game under an Administrator or equivalent account under Windows. If you do have access an admin account, you can right click on the application you want to run and select "Run As". This will allow you to give admin access to that program and should allow you to play with a limited user.

Normally once you kill the anti-virus, firewall, get rid of spyware and run the game with an admin account it should work fine.

Yup i tried that too, Any tasks tho that may hide in my taskmanager box with a weird name?

In my bf2 folder it has a zip called ''pylib-2.3.4'' When extracted it un-zips loads of folders like

                    Encodings
                    Plat-aix4
                    Xml
                    test
                    Hotshot
                    Email

& they have loads of sub folders in them has this got something to do with it?

                    Chris.

Nothing seems out of the ordinary in your list.

You do have a lot (IMHO) of background processes that run with you boot Windows. Everything in the list with a O4 at the start of the line are Autoloading programs from Registry.

You do have a lot of McAfee apps running in the background (spam killer/email filter/ IM virus checker...). Could you go through every app in the system tray and kill it so you're sure that you're just running Windows and nothing else that could cause problems e.g.

                          C:\Program Files\HP\hpcoretech\hpcmpmgr.exe

                            Compare to yours....
Look at "C:\" lines, you have lots... use taskmanager to review em all and uninstall the unneded (u have alot).
Those O4 lines r all start up applications do same as above w/ Control Panel...

I would try a great tool "Tuneup Utilities" (find & dload from internet). Use it to thru it's every tool.... After, if no luck, consider a format of ur disk.
