Related - If you're playing Commander and an enemy transport chopper is capping one of your points, you can also kill it by dropping a Supply Crate onto its rotors too. This works great on maps like Songhua Stalemate. (I dont try it on attack choppers though because they dont typically hover in one spot for long and you wind up giving the enemy free ammo / health). Anyways, was out pubbing with my guys one night and we were talking about how sensitive the heli rotors are - so I tried crating a blackhawk and KABLAMMO... We all about wet ourselves.

1 question, if youre airfield spwanpoint has been taken over, and you cant rearm, how do you get that repair?

typically a noob with what he thinks somewhat of an excuse who didnt think far enough.

Easy to get repairs on a jet with no owned airfield. You spawn as an engineer to begin with and LAND THE DAMN THING. You can wrench on it. I've landed J10's on building roofs before. If you do it on a hill you can successfully take off afterwards. :)

It seems like missiles are a good idea against choppers but since the patch, 90% of my rockets go AROUND choppers. It's the most retarded thing I've ever seen. Get a lock, wait for flares, fire 4 rockets..and they will ALL veer around the helo like it has a force field protecting it. If you're really lucky they'll find a friendly and you'll get punished. I have better luck shooting down base raping jets on Gulf of Oman with the stinger than I do shooting at helos with a jet.

Missiles are nearly irrelevant in this buggy game anymore, they get you into too much trouble and don't hit anything you lock them onto. Better off leaving it on bombing mode and using cannons.

i didnt read all the posts, but for the original topic. it works, yes, but it's a horrible idea to do so. if u do fly alot, u'd know that half health of a jet is extremely important, especially when u are engaging a good jet pilot on the opposite team. ur jet will be smoking when u have half health, u will be easily spotted, easily chased, and easily shot down, period.

Looks! They are more likely to hit friendly aircraft than enemy. I use my gun only now and have no fear of missles. If missiles did there job then there would be no reason for this post. Unless you have a better way?

I agree with you if youre talkin about fightin choppers, unless u can get like directly behing them ur missiles really dont do much

Sounds like they need stiffer penalties for people who dont play the game it was meant to be played..(with SKILL) I dont think the 1point for a tker is enough!! more like 100

I found an easy way to take out choppers with jets, without wasting any ammo on them.

If you 'ram' them, but only hit their rotor, the chopper will be destroyed, and you'll lose only about half of your health (and 2-3 passes over the airstrip/carrier repairs that anyway).
Especially handy if your spawnpoint with the airfield has been taken over, so that you can't re-arm.
(and of course, against full BlackHawks :evil: )

It takes some practise, but if you're able to do this everytime without really ramming them, their choppers will be useless, making it much easier for your team to win.

(some people will probably say that it's easy to destroy choppers with the cannon, but try that against a good chopper pilot, they'll be able to evade easily most of the time)

I think it is soooo pitiful that you would post this garbage. A way to "ram without getting caught". How about "If you suck but don't want to take the time to get better, here's how you can get those points without people catching on to how bad you really are". I just can't believe it! It's promoting a behavior that a lot of people find rude, selfish, self centered, takes no talent, ruins the other guys gaming experience and is completely childish.

I have the best tactic for you wannabe jet pilots who score in the single digits when you spend the map in the cockpit. STAY OUT OF THE JET!! 9 of 10 times there is a seasoned qualified jet pilot sitting on the ground who has been displaced because your "me first" attitude got to the jet first. Way to go, the REAL pilot is now not being used at all while you drag your whole team down using someone else's scoring machine like a bowling ball. Bragging about "hitting" a helo without really "hitting" it. So tasteless. The more I think about it the more ****ed I get.

Why don't you learn to actually pilot instead of just trying to ruin someone else's game time (and score). In my opinion, you are worse than a noob because you have just enough experience to wreck everyone else's game time.


Learn to fly or do everyone a favor and stay out of the air.

Well, after flying chopper for more than 450 hours (happen to know what the word 'chopperwhore' means in BF2?) you should be able to evade that easily....and maybe you should read the posts about not being able to reload, etc...

In my opinion, you are worse than a noob because you have just enough experience to wreck everyone else's game time.

So, I'm worse than you, just because I can kills you easily while you're in your chopper (without suiciding).....

Try doing this, and see how often you ram the chopper (when it's in full flight), before you manage to do it properly, then we'll talk again about who's the noob here.

i have a 7.08 k/d (soon to go up) in the jet, i know thats not that great, but good enough to let you know i know what im doing.

well why dont you just kill the chopper the normal fucking way..? honestly is it THAT hard...? slowing down is optional. just aim for the cockpit (preferably perpendicular to the chopper) and the chopper blows up in literally like 1-2 seconds.

its a crappy drawing but just aim at one of those spots (for the attack choppers). and for the transport choppers try to slow down as absolutely slow as you can while also heading straight on to it so you have a good view of the pilot/cockpit (and a plus is only the pilot can see you).

just kill them the normal way. in an average game, out of like 50 kills i will have about about 10 of them as chopper kills, and then at least 35 for vehicles on the ground (when you are in a jet you need to concentrate on this and killing the opposing jets...because what the hell? it gives you a damn box... why not use it how it was supposed to be used..?) and the last 5 or so for ground troops. again, thats like an average score.

and helis that i kill that never leave the ground count as "vehicle kills". thats another thing, if you see a chopper on the ground blow it up, and just check back like 30 seconds later and there will be like 5 or so people there for you to kill. easy kills.

I agree, don't make other players pay for your training time. If all you can do is slam into the enemy then get out of jet or go single player.
