I just noticed...I've only got a Radeon X300 series...could that cause my Crash to Desktop?

Says it's supported on my box. Doesn't your copy show a spec? Is that why you bought it without checking?

Turn down your in-game settings and update your drivers. In the hardware forums there is a stick at the top that will walk you through how to properly install new video drivers.

I've updated drivers...Could low HD space have been the prob when I had the CTD issue a while back?

Can't say for sure, it very well could have been, but it would be the first time I've heard of a CTD because of space. As long as the game was installed you should have been alright. In all honesty the X300 kinda sucks. If you can afford and upgrade, go for it.

By chance do you have a Sony Viao?

Same... but there are different types of X300's. Some 64mb versions have shared memory which may not be supported, whereas the 128mb version is.
