Mmmm No disrespect intended! But wouldn't you bail out of a vehicle if you were about to be killed?
I would have thought bailing from a doomed vehicle would be the natural thing to do.
Why ban players from doing that?

for ground vehicles, you should always die with it. If you hop out and run away. The enemy may steal it, then your team won't have it to use.

I think it's ok to get out of an exploding vehicle. I also think the beeping sound you hear when the vehicle is about to explode is there for a reason (not just to give u something to listen while u die)

...We all know how skilled those who can find the exit, parachute, and run foward keys and run into somewhere indoors safe from the tank that shot them down are, now don't we?

if u don't have the skill to shoot the person parachuting or running for cover, then u don't deserve the kill points. Anyway the point of the game is to cap flags and in this situation u have a much better chance of doing that than the person who just had to bail form his vehicle.

What about jumping into that nearly busted, abandoned tank and firing one shot the nearby enemy APC with full health, ejecting and then finishing it off with your AT-rockets?

I think that shows dexterity and wits, not cowardlyness (is that a word )

I remember this one time, this guy snuck up on me and unloaded a whole clip before I ever realized what was going on... except he missed with most of them, so I wasn't quite dead yet. So I killed myself. It was the honerable thing to do.

I'd like the next version of BF2 to simulate the 1800 warfare so all the soldiers would have to stand still in tight lines on a field while shooting eachother like gentlemen.

You should watch the news. Then you would have seen some footage in Iraq of some brits bailing out of their tank that was on fire. Silly twats. They really ought to have stayed in the tank and got resurected back at their home base.

Personally, I encourage dumbasses to stay in a vehicle that is engulfed in flames. It saves me the few extra rounds I would have to use to shoot them as they're running away.

I mean, to suggest that a server should actually prevent people from getting out of a vehcile is just asinine.

At the end of the day, if somebody bails in a tank fight, shoot the son of a bitch... theyre on foot, and since you are in a Chivalrus mood you would not be on foot as your burning wreck can still shoot (just). open fire on the running, injured disorintated enemy... if you are so good at veichle vs veichle fighting then surely somebody on foot would be no sweat?

I saw in somebodys post the suggestion that tank shells should not take down choppers? One tow, tank shell, AA missile or indeed a few well aimed .50 calaber rounds would be plenty in real life so whats wrong with the Main battle tanks turret cannon being able to knock a chopper out of the sky?

The only way people will stop :cry: crying back to the admins is if the admins just banned the players from ever joining...

All I'm saying is that getting them out of the vehicle, WHETHER OR NOT you kill them helps your team. Some kind of assist points would be ideal, but we need DICE for that. Therefore, we need to do the next best thing.

Just to clear this all up....

It is NOT an in-justice for one reason....YOU HAVEN'T DESTROYED THE VEHICLE IF THEY HAVE TIME TO GET OUT!....plain and simple.

Vehicles begin to burn and have a "countdown to destruction" if they are ALMOST destroyed..NOT DESTROYED.

If you FULLY kill a vehicle (ie: reduce the bars to zero or negitive) the explosion is instantaneous....and there is no chance to escape.

So, in summary:

vehicle not instantly destroyed = not your kill = no points for you.

Point is moot

No, but you made them afriad to get back in the vehicle, so therefore, it is now useless and just as good as destroyed.

Please read this thread again, 90% of these people have ignored my post completely, called me a moron, and brought up counter-arguments so stupid and irrelevant it surprises me they are smart enough to talk. To top that off it's all obviously because they are afriad of a day when the scoring system in battlefield is valid and they can't get cheap points.
