I'm still surprised to not find one server that hasn't banned bailing out of a vehicle to avoid getting killed when an enemy has defeated you. I do this, but only to make the game fair since people on the other team probably will, HOWEVER, I would not mind a server which disallowed this. It can take a lot of justice out of the scoring system when you take down an enemy vehicle only to have the person inside get out, kill you, or get killed by someone else and you don't even get some kind of assist point.

Mmmm No disrespect intended! But wouldn't you bail out of a vehicle if you were about to be killed?
I would have thought bailing from a doomed vehicle would be the natural thing to do.
Why ban players from doing that?

I dont see the use in BF:2, vehicles are expendable,so why wouldnt one bail when the alarm sounds and the health drains?

I dont mind it at all, if the driver survives, that means he wont be back with his vehicle in 20 seconds.

Personally I choose to die in my vehicle, then I can spawn back at the checkpoint where I got it in the first place :p

Getting an assist if a player dies within a set amount of time isn't a bad idea. But I don't think BF2 does assists, other than driver assists.

This is what you would call a "noob" sever. A sever where players can not find a way to be actally good in-game so they come to sever with strange rules, to make it so noobs can get more points than usally and make the game more boring. Not that it would be bad for the noobs though.

Admins ban people for everything: spawn camping airfields, tank whoring, grenade launching, high scores, bunnyhopping, chopper whoring and everything else. It's getting pretty lame.

*sigh* If only I had a higher post count you people would agree I bet.

1. You don't get kill damage assists unless they get out a second before the vehicle blows up

2. Server rules like no bunnyhopping AREN'T made because bunny hopping is stupid, rather because they think it is cheap.

3. The fact that the driver won't be back in vehicle for 20 seconds is PRECISLEY why it takes the justice out of the scoring system. You help your team, but unlike kill-whores, won't get any points.

4. It's not a n00b server if you are forced to stay in your vehicle when you lose a fight, because you would need some skill to stay alive when you get into a vehicle. We all know how skilled those who can find the exit, parachute, and run foward keys and run into somewhere indoors safe from the tank that shot them down are, now don't we?

I think its fine the way it is... if u know something is going to kill u .. then bailout.. thats realistic.. this isnt a sailing scooner.. i aint going down with my vessel.

yeah and being able to get out of a vehicle as fast as you can press the E key is realistic too huh? no need to open a door or a hatch, climb out and jump down or slip out of the 50 cal seat on the DPV, just suddenly appear standing outside of a vehicle fast as the speed of light. That's realistic too right?
