Re: A Gunners guide to being a good Chopper Pilot
I consider myself a pretty good co-pilot. I have shot down jets before with the tv-guided missile and it is hella fun. With a good pilot, I can easily get 100 points, or close to that. But, I wouldn't be getting all those points if it wasn't for the pilot. He is the one who sets me up for the shots. I mean, I can only do so much with that rocket. A few things though that I need to stress to any pilot is:
-When in a dog fight up in the sky, don't point your nose up and expect me to fire and get a hit. Pardon my French, but I can’t see sh!t. The sky is white, my crosshairs are white, and the sun is in my face. It just sucks so don’t do that. So try to get a height advantage over the other chopper so I can shoot downward, but obviously not too downward…
-Also, I think this was mentioned, but when reloading, getting repairs or etc, point me in the direction of the nearest enemy flag, because if I can take the shot I will and who knows maybe I’ll hit a tank. No harm in it because we are getting ammo anyway.
-One thing that does tick me off is people who jack my spot; they obviously see how much of an effort I am putting into the team and our success, so why ruin it by stealing my ride? Most of the time they just “want” it and think I’m hogging the heli. Maybe if you’d open your eyes and see how much I’m doing for the team you would realize to go do your job as well.
-Also, another thing that really really ****es me off are those jerks in the jets that kamikaze themselves just to get that extra kill, or just because they are jack offs.
Eh, I’m sure there is more but I can’t think of them now. Itar basically covered the main things to know. But, I don’t agree with your concept of ‘not getting out.’ If the people are in a clan and are trying to coordinate, then why be an a$$hole and do such a thing? They would help the team more, then if it was you and some random guy… that and also the fact that the pilot doesn’t want you as a gunner, so he would either crash it or won’t give you the shots or something, which wont benefit the team at all.
