What most people dont realize (Or possibly dont care) that We were in fallujah for a year before the Marines got there. 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment (3ACR) had control of Fallujah with little under a Cavalry Squadron's number of soldiers (Under 1000) and we also had Hit, Ar Ramadi and some othe little **** ant locations. (Well.... we will say control is probly a stretch of the word as V-Corps (CJTF-7) didnt think that area was hostile enough to warrant a BDE or DIV in that region.) 3ACR controled the area from Fallujah to the Syrian Border, and Al Qaim south to the Jordanian border. Much larger area than is doctrinally given to a Cav Regiment (The term used was "Economy of Force"). After we left fallujah, 82d AB moved in..... Then the Marines.

The fighting was no less intense for either of the other two units there, Simply a different allocation of Media traveling along with them to cover the fights.

What the video doesnt show well, and I might be wrong on the individual tactics used in this fight but am speaking from my time and events there, is while the soldiers are suppressing the area... or "Wasting ammo shooting at bldgs" (To paraphrase others comments here) there is more than likely an assault team moving to the bldg to initiate clearing procedures that is not caught on tape. I can almost guarentee you there is more than 1 person there (for the person who asked if they are only shooting at the 1 head seen about 12 seconds into the video)... I might be wrong, but I would doubt it.

It is a good video of a Suck situation in a crappy little city that was pretty uncontrolled even during Sadam's Regime

Um in my opinion, we (americans) saved everyone in WWII. The Germans were defenatley in control until we came into the picture. We were out numbered and outguned, but still kicked @$$, but what do i know im not a WWII buff.

But i can tell you that i've been to iraq and afghanistan. I've been with the 82nd airborne (in an infantry unit) so you and I both know the 'leaders' stuck us right in the middle of every firefight they could. Having said that, sadly war is shaping up to be very political. You cant fight a war properly with the leaders worried about what is 'political' or what isnt. War and politics are at the very opposite ends of the spectrum, and i'll be the first to say that i really don't give a flying fck about politics. I've spent 2 years of my life fighting for it as well as my brothers next to me. Anyone that has been to combat knows that you dont fight for your country, you fight to keep you and your fellow brothers alive. Now i joined up to fight for my country yes, but when your out there in the sht, you really dont care about that. All you care about is staying alive so you can see your wife and kids again. I guess what im saying is that it doesn't matter what videos you have seen, becuase it has been tainted with poilitics. The media with twist anything around to make anyone look bad. Why do you think some us soldiers are in prison for war crimes? Im not saying what they did what right, but having been over there, i know what they have gone through, and there has to be something else that we dont know about. We as americans have to publicly punish our soldiers, whether they did wrong things or not, because of politics. Everything is on the news now days, so when something bad happens, we feel that we have to punish whoever we think we should. Its sad that we fight for a country who doesn't back us up. Im not just talking about the media either, im talking about the entire poputation of the US. Take that one mother who kept on protesting outside the presidents house for example. She should be proud that her son died for his coutry, but being ignorant about the war and what the media has made it look like, she acted like a fool to try to get the president to redeploy all us troops out of iraq. Whatever, im done ranting now.....

None of the Allies had an extensive history at arnhem during WW2 Cause the Nazis won that one. And if we didn't step in that conflict, I GD guarantee you, your ignorant @$$ would be speaking German. Take your pathetic self to Waldens or whatever bookstores they have on your planet and pick up the Road to Arnhem, then obtain some appreication for what my evil nation of infidels has tried to do to make this a better planet for very1, including the haters.

12-RST- I respect your opinion but I have to disagree with you on this. WWII was an obvious threat to our national security while Saddam Hussein is and was NOT. Now as for the arguement that we removed an evil dictator, our world is full of them not the least of which is China with whom we do business with. So are we to believe that removing an "evil dictator" was worth "currently" 2000 American and 25000+ Iraqi lives and untold billions of dollars. If you buy into that rationale than you are a fool. I have the utmost respect for our soldiers and our military but just because they are involved in a conflict does'nt mean that conflict is one we should be involved in. It is the responsibility of our government and the American people to decide when to use that force. Basically separate the war from the warrior is what I'm saying. And if you believe that if we dont fight the Iraqi insurgents (Iraqi civilian population) over there than we'll have to fight them over here, then you are a serious fool. Trigger.

Re: This is BF2 but with better graphics

First off, the US or anybody, was never IN Fallujah until the first week of April 2004. The sheer numbers of Iraqi's who supported the guerilla's in the area wouldnt allow it. It would have been a slaughter to go into the city. The entire city was under the control of Guerilla's. It took more than 3 weeks to bring the city somewhat to a "safe" zone.

It's ok for you to say why im so stupid. That is what is so great about these forums. So if you would like to put togetther a paragraph of intelligent words. I would love to discuss anything with you. If you think I'm "stupid" for enjoying watching the video of the US troops "working", then you need to get your head in the right place. Do you know why certain groups of people are willing to commit suicide to just kill one of us? I cannot understand hating someone so much as to want to kill them and myself. Maybe i like being alive too much. Did anyone watch the coward's execute Nicholas Berg? I didn't want to watch. People shouldn't have to see it. But, it is still a fact that it happened, and now it's in the history books.

So what if I want to watch troops tearing it up in a foreign country, they are fighting people that would happily execute me for being an American.

                  Uh...

I recall setting my troop TOC in Fallujah April 2003. So check your years it might be a typo or simple missinformation.

It would also be really hard to explain to my soldiers families who died in Fallujah... in April, July, and Aug of 2003 if we were not there until 2004. Not to mention my BSV dated June 2003 for actions in Fallujah.

Here is a link to the 1st firing incident at one of our troop TOCs in Fallujah, dated 29 April 2003.

Hard to be shot at at your HQ if your HQ wasnt there.

and here is a simple link to a Unit paper that was being sent home to the families from the time (May 2003) 2nd topic was one of the Cav troops in Fallujah.

And trigger, I didn't say Saddam was threat to us, and I dont think we should have ever went in there, if any1 should have been invaded it was and is Iran. All I'm saying is, by no means are we getting our Asse$ kicked, define an A$$kicking, and in context it portrays What the Werhmact did quite often to us in the Bulge. I don't interpret an a$$kicking 20 of thiers for one of ours.

All I'm an advocate of, is protecting ourselves while we are over there, and hopefully getting these Iraqis to Cowboy up and eradicate these SOBs without our presence. That is all, I don't give a damn about the political spectrum.

Look it's not a question of getting our asses kicked but that we are in an un-winnable situation. Nobody likes to admit to it but we made a bad situation worse and we keep saying that the Iraqis have to pony up and it just aint gonna happen. It's obvious going forward that "regime change" never works (look at Vietnam). Lastly politics is why we're in this mess to begin with not because our country was at risk.

Actually NO. It wouldnt suffice because it DIDNT suffice. Aparently you didnt read all the previous posts where I stated we were in fallujah in April 2003 to which he replied NOONE was until April 2004.

And stating facts is now shameless? I didnt mention my soldeir's names, nor their familes. I didnt glorify their deaths. I didnt mock their contributions. No. I used the facts to support a stement. ((However to concede the point... I thought I did edit that part out. It was typed while I was thinking (And the two are NOT done at the same speed) and I though I had simply left the part of my BSV in the link - I wont agree that it was shameless as at this point it is an unfortunate fact that I stated... I will agree that it was ill-typed and mentioned without thinking))

Yet you read that as though I even remotely hinted that he had anythinig to do with their deaths. You shouldnt be looking in the mirror when you are calling the person you see a retard.

Yes you asshat it is shameless because you used the death of those soldiers to garner some cheap respect. Like i said before, just saying that you were there during that time would have been enough to prove him wrong. What does the "fact" that those soldiers died have anything to do with you being there? Were you "more" there because they died or would you have been "less" there if they had'nt? I reiterate, you are a retard. Btw, don't parse my posts, attack it as a whole when trying to prove a point, genius.
