Run as fast as I can to an area of high enemy concentration. Peek around a corner... Get killed, wait 15 seconds, repeat.

Isnt a prefered method but it is one that I have aparently perfected

Haha, We have the same tactic !! Run in like hell with guns blazing! If the enemy was a wall it would be dead, because I get everything but the person.

Mine is..

being a sniper lover but still like to do some community ( read: squad) work i mostly go hide in spot where i can do lots of spots and back my squad up by supressing/killing enemy soldiers doing a sneak up. ( or guys that are waiting for n00bs to blow them up )

not a very good way to earn points ( not getting a lot of neutralize/capture points) but it is a thankfull bussiness.
and above all... it's fun!!

mostly try to do this near a SAM launcher so a helicopter or bomber can get the occasional resistance instead of a free killing spree.

next to this i love doing bomb runs with the F15 on tactical targets... again for the best interest of the team instead of personal pleasure only.

i mostly end up having as much kills as assists which shows that i love teamwork..... i luvvit.

Hmm the hole flag traping tactic ive read about on here a while ago but it was a variation of what the thread starter said. C4 the flag run of and fight and as soon as you hear THE ENEMY IS IN CONTROL bring up your map see if its your flag thats gone white if it is then set of the C4. To me personaly i think what i mentioned is alot better than camping the hole round you get to fight and get the kills from a trap it does work as a tactic ive tryd and tested it myself plenty of times. And if you die just respawn at the same flag replant the C4 and go of and fight again. And the hole hiding the C4 i personaly wouldnt do myself stick it out in th open were they can see just make sure theres no way of them capping the flag without getting blown up. This then gives you a double edge the smart players will not touch that flag becouse they know there gonna die if they cap it (so the flags safe). And if a noob does go for the flag you get the kills (so the flags save). Only problem with this plan is the truely clever players stands back and lets the noobs take the flag to white and die and then they cap it themselfs when no more C4 is there. But if your in a good squad or a clan you could combat that by having 2 sf players plant C4 one seceretly and one in the open you then get the noobs with the stuff in the open and the pro's 5 seconds latter with the hidden stuff. (ive not tryd the last sentence before but its an idea)

Am i the onyl oen who just spawns, places some c4 on the flag i spawned at then goes and fights??
I mean whats the point of camping 1 flag whiel theres a whole game going on...theres more then just that flag to defend.
I wait till I here enemey has taken control etc..check my mini map then blow it.

My tactics are as follows:

I pick a flag thats kinda out of the way, somewhere in the middle of the map or so, Plant C4 around key areas including tossing one up on the flag pole for the choppers and find a spot a clip away and wait. I ALWAYS let them turn the flag to grey and then to their own flag before I waste them. this way they still can't spawn there becaus ethe flag is not raised all the way yet, but then I can run in, retake the flag gaining a neutral point anf then 2 points for flag capture. I then C4 the place again and repeat process. if I run out of C4 (which I always do, then I allow the enemy to take flag and I quickly retake flag, or if the enemy is just one or two men I'll charge in with a nade and gun to take them out before they take the flag completely.

Keep in mind I only play this way if I'm a Spec Ops, and I usually guard one flag, sometimes two flags if 2 of them are close enough to each other. this method works well for me and my team.

THEN, I would wait patiently....for a whole round sometimes...

wow, i have far more better things to do than wait a whole round just to blow 1 or 2 guy up with a C4.

Anyone who DEFENDS a flag rather than capping and deserting it deserves credit. I'm sick of people who cap it and run away to the next one, only to let the enemy take control 10 seconds later. You sound like one of those people.

I defend with C4; it's what I do. I pick a flag and stick with it the entire game.

You need to calm down and open your eyes a bit, "Da" Sniper.

Well just the other day I was on wake island. I had laid c4 at the base north east (don't know name). Anyway, I decided not to wait and went with my squad to attack the base north west on the island right close by. We terminated any resistance and took the flag but then I heard those words..."The enemy is in control" or "you have lost control". I can't remember what is said exactly. But when I heard those words and saw it was my base with the c4 that had the white flag I pressed the button on the remote detonator........BOOMMMM three kills.
I was surprised the remote worked at that far of a distance. Thing is though, if there are any remaining enemies around then it would be easy for them to finish taking the flag.
Its better to see the flag going down and being able to blow it up before then. Then the flag should go back up the pole by itself.

EDIT: Yes it is a good idea to work with a buddy and plant c4 simultaneously so that as one bomb goes off there would be a backup.

Ya, but there is a problem with that which is what I and 18zulukiller had mentioned.
Besides, this is a team game. There are others doing other things to complete the mission. This brings up a side question:
Didn't DICE say that 100 player servers are possible but that they will let the modders put it in? Whats the word on that?
The more the merrier. More forces for that could do more things. :)

I most often curse the plane/chopper whores just standing around waiting for their chance to demonstrate their mastery of careening into a mountain (10 seconds after takeoff) while the rest of the team is off on foot/in a ground vehicle trying to win.

Jumping out of a heli or going to boat to the carrier, setting up defences and base rapeing the whores waiting around for planes, then seeing their futile atempts to take us out as I Eryx their jets :p

Ahhhh!!......
Its such a beautiful moment when as you observe an enemy board a jet and as he sees you from his cockpit a few feet away with a remote detonator in your hand.......that look.
That look in his eyes of sheer horror and dread as he instantly realizes that there must be c4 on his plane. And also as he starts screaming "nooooooooooooooo" like a little girl when you press the button........precious...such a precious precious moment. Moments that I will treasure....forever!

I live to take out helicopters flying flag to flag to cap them and leave.
