everyone has their own method. I did mine as support purely because I didn't want to screw up my rating with other classes :)

all the tips above are valid but I tried a better idea. Attacking the second bottom karkand spawn, just above the hotel one, I would follow my team mates in and go around the back while they were distracting them. One kill. Next, I climbed the ladder onto the top of the building overlooking the flag and waited for a counterattack. Sure enough, people attacked and started capping the flag. Jumping off the roof, knife in hand, I parachute onto one guy and stab him in the head. Repeat for the other guy who didn't even see me coming.

Climb back up the ladder and wait :)

While Karkand is probably the best map, I'm with Mr. Gooch, a medic is probably your best bet, speed of the light armors + free and highly needed healing... In terms of how to get it, I wouldn't say stay in "any" certain location, thats just asking to get mowed down by a player who got knifed by you. Your best bet is to try and sneak around the other team using the far corners of the map. Then flank 'em and get your knife kills without being shot at... Trust me on this, its easier to sneak up on a player and knife them, than it is to run up and try to gut them while also worrying about packet loss messing with your one chance.

18 really is difficult. i don't think i've seen anyone with the expert knife badge yet. and, i don't think it's possible to get without the help of a friend? dunno...

karkand....use a kit that has armor (ie assault, etc), be patient, this one takes a while to get.

Not at all, that was just the last I heard on the EA board (to seperate the reqirment between basic and veteran...) ubar still says it's 7

OMFG have you ever tried to trow a granade lets say at his back (just for him 2 hear it) the you swiftly move reah his bakc & let the blade loose...

also a cool thing is plant a C4 at your feet detonate it you will fly the knife from above (I killed a guy like this once, the C4 also may "stun" the enemy)

Just run up to people and knife them. Don't worry about dying. Do this on a 64 player server where the ticket count is high.
Also make sure you play as medic so you can heal yourself.
Seriously, you just have to not care about dying. It's not so hard this way. Getting 18 kills will be challenging though...

I got my vet at Sharqi and without any trouble? I can't help but find it amazingly easy to get knife kills in this game. I can't suggest diving at someone's feet and stabbing their ankles, it just makes things complex. Once nice stab in the chest will do it.

Guess that's not much help though. :P Are you guys playing on 64 man servers? 'cause in urban maps with that many players it's easier to kill with your knife than with your primary weap in some cases. Remember to keep it out all the time, and keep your stamina ready to chase people down. The worst is when your target's teammates have his back covered.

The best advice I've seen here is to remap your knife key to something handy. I have mine set for "G" with Prone as "F" with sprint and jump set to default. That way I can sprint, change to knife, and dive at the player all with very few keyboard strokes.
