if your in the same room you still need an internet connection for you to connect lan.

when one of you creates a game, note down the IP address. Then the other goes into multiplayer and choose to connect to IP, type it in and join.

I think he still has to host a game - not single player. I am not sure, never tried.

Also - make sure he does not have some sort of firewall on his system. Like the one on XP when SP2 came out and added it.

              It works.

All you have to do is have one player on one machine playing a single player map.

Then you simply go to the 'Internet' section on another machine and then 'Connect to IP' and punch in his LAN IP address.

If he has setup the 'Create Local Server' section with a password, then that password will also apply to the single player mode. Neat, eh?

He may have to forward port 16567 to the machine 'hosting' the single player game though.

Those are BOTH your LOCAL IP address, every computer connected to the internet uses one of those or similar. You need your REAL IP address which is found by putting your local ip into the address bar and browsing around until it shows your IP. If nothing comes up with your IP in the browser go to www.whatismyip.com, generally that does not work when you're using a shared IP (may be the case), but it is worth a try.

On a side note, you can not play SINGLE player with someone else, the whole point of it being called SINGLE player is that there is a SINGLE PLAYER...

                  wrong

                  try it

Also...he doesn't need his WAN IP address if he is connecting to his roomie's machine. I'm assuming they are on a LAN though. He needs his internal LAN IP address...which sounds like what he is using.

So have you tried forwarding the port yet?

Open ports on your router with our port forwarding guides. We have guides specific to your router.

I don't know about LAN, but over internet connection, just get the BF2 COOP mod. Works great.

Well I'm sorry, when I put the words "single" and "player" together I get "single player".

You have been recomended for the Hypocrite ribbon! Not once was I rude, then YOU come at with that, look, the words "single player" mean one player to the rest of the world, the clue is in the word "single"...

Listen...how many times do we have to say it...it is an undocumented feature....

but your precious 'single player' mode allows other people to access it and play co-operatively with you.

No matter how many times you reply with your same "single + player" statements, it doesn't make them any more true. "single player" is simply the label given to that little button that you press. It is also coop multiplayer.

Why don't you try it for yourself, Mr. Single.
