      They both suck. 800x600 is too small, and 60Hz is too low.

      If you have a CRT try at least 1024x768 @72Hz. The native resolution of LCDs is 1280x1024. I'm not even sure if LCDs even use refresh rates.

        Nope, native res. for a TFT is 1024x768 (15" and 17") - unless you are talking about newer 19" models.

          I read all of these comments and now I'm a little confused. I run my at 800 x 600 with refresh rate at 170, or 1024 x 768 with refresh rate at 140! My video card is is a 6600 GT, and my monitor supports both these refresh rate. Is this ok or does it add to delay with refresh rate that high?

            Don't take this the wrong way Blak_Pheonix_MB but I'm with Krypp596 and have a 9600 with everything on low/medium at 800x600 and 75Hz. If I go over those settings it will stutter.

            I know you have a 10% OC on the 9550 but I'd like to see some screenshots of those settings in action.

            I use 1024x768 at 72 Hz with a 9550, works fine.

            That was taken from the C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001

            Then under Video... i could be bothered to start up the game.. lol.

            1 = low
            2 = med
            3 = high

            But scale distance 1 = 100% view distance.

              So long as the 60 Hz doesn't hurt your eyes or give you a headache, always go with a higher resolution and at the highest refresh rate your monitor can support at that resolution.

                IF you are on a 15 inch LCD (which i hope not), then 60hz at 1024 is your only real option. If you have a CRT than 1024 at 60hz is better, even though it gives eye strain.

                      well i would like to play on 1024x768 75 Hz, but it cuts off an inch of the right side of the game screen, so i stay at 60Hz

                      i would move the monitor screen settings but i dont wanna keep changing it everytime i open and close the game
                      (i dont want to change my desktop resolution either)

                      anyone have a solution?

                        say what you want, but you and i both know that it can't run the game at a resolution higher than 1920x1200. :P

                          Okay...enough about me...let's talk about me...

                          I have 17 Flatpanel Dell true something screen and you have my specs below.

                          What should be my refresh rate and res? Right now I have her set to 1024X768(is that the number?) at 60hz...no problems. Would my FPS go up if I plugged in my CRT screen?

                          Thanks,

                            no. if you run at the same resolution with the same hardware, monitors will not change your performance whatsoever.

                              My PC is anything but obsulete, but even I experience problems running the game above 1024x780. Not that anything bad that happens to me with this game makes any sense...

                                Could someone explain how 1024x768 at 60Hz is bad? I've always used that as my resolution (yes I'm using a CRT monitor) and it had never hurt my eyes, I never see any flickering. It looks perfectly fine and no different from any other monitor I've looked at.
