Re: EA popup ad.
When I first saw it I thought that it was a great way to get info to players on new maps/patches as there are still players today discovering that a patch came out 3 weeks ago.
But it seems that the display message is hardcoded into the game. In order to see that there is a 1.03 patch available you need to install the 1.03 patch first !
Would it have been difficult to make it an inbuilt HTTP browser that only appeared if there was a update?Comment

Re: EA popup ad.
You don't actually have to click on the message. The 'open' & 'close' button suggest that you have to click on one of them but you don't. Just hit 'multiplayer' as usual :)Originally posted by [AzD]Captain_Apolloit is quite annoying but i get used to it, and just quit it every time it pops upComment

No it doesn't. DiCE updated the login system so that you must have your login and password entered into the program that you use to connect to the BF2 server. The popup only appears to break it as it's the first thing you notice when you login in.Comment
