BF2 with more than 64 players! (Test server up)

** Edit, Test Version of Program Has Been Released: **

I have decided to just post the test version of the mod to allow more than 64 players in a game. Just go to this makeshift webpage: http://TavuBF2.tripod.com/ and download it from there. right now it is still in testing version but hopefully there will be no problems.

How to use:

1. Download, unzip, and run the program on the server which is running the dedicated server and make sure the dedicated server is currently running.

2. Change the number in the textbox to the maximum number of players you want. It is recommended that you keep the max players below 128 players. The status bar should tell you the maximum player limit has been changed.

3. Done. Let me know how it works for you, and please post your server info here if you use it! I really want to play in a 128 player game =)

I'm getting a gamespy error when trying to login to my account... Otherwise I would try to join up.

Hrm, strange. I know I was able to connect and 3 people are currently connected to the server. Right now the server is up. I think the cause of the gamespy error could be because I put a not-normal character in the title of the game to make it the top of the alphabetical ordering. Try just joining it regularily through BF2. Next time I do a restart, when no one is online I will change the title to a regular title.

ummm there were only two other people playing. I'll try it out tomorrow.

by the way it ran really smooth though, considering I was online playing on your server, listening to music on WMP, downloading 3 700mb concert videos through a P2P progie, down loading the ElderScrolls IV Oblivion trailor, and I had internet explorer opened up to this web page.

though if your server was filled up it could have been a completely different story. good luck dude.

oh yeah, i dislike large servers though. I look for games with only 32 or less people playing. I like room to move without constant fighting.

I was one of those three, I was trying to fly all the air vehicles drunk as hell. I guess what's cool is I got to fly everything, because I died often enough to have a new ride every minute or so LOL.

yeah the server is up, i was one of the three people playing, and the only one on my team of two capping. By the time I got there it was over though lol.

Thanks for playing guys. Hopefully eventually it will get more than 64 players on it sometime. If it isn't making much progress by the end of tomorrow I think I will try and approach one of the populated server admins to see if they would let me modify their server to play more than 64 players.

well its kinda late here in the states and even later else where, most people don't know to look for your server. In all honesty I would give it a couple of days, while promoting it here. Like I said I'll jump on tomorrow after work and see how its going.

I never fly... as a matter of fact I think I have 0 kills with aircraft. I've flown in single-player with the coop mod, but I used an xbox controller. Tonight I was just seeing how I could do with keyboard/mouse. You saw the results lol. There was one time you were getting ready to launch missiles at me and I accidentally just bailed out lol.

Has to be on my end, not your server. I can't even login to see your server. I would love to see 80 player servers or even higher.

Ya, I love big games. First I am going to see if this works, then I will increase the limit even more, hopefully it can be increased infinitely.
