    amen -- a reasonable voice

what i meant when i said the PKM is an option (a recommendation) not a solution to the problem, but if i am running down a road and a bh swoops down on me -- i would rather have my PKM than an L85 -- as for a smoking BH that has decent damage to it, PKM anyday (if i dont have access to any mounted machine guns) -- in my BF2 career i've taken down 5 blackhawks with a PKM

I dont go anywhere without them, seriously, if my jeep dies, im going back to base to get a new one.

I'd actually prefer the L85, in that case. If I had a firing line, I'd try to pick off their gunners. If I had to run, I'd rather have a healthpack out healing me while I sprint to cover rather than a PKM.

Of course if you insist on playing Support, sure, carry a PKM. But I certainly don't recommend anyone play Support with the intention of actively taking out helicopters - and being prepared for the scenario above is a pretty flimsy reason to play a certain kit.

Now the AT kit, that's for actively ****ing off helis!

What's easier for a chopper pilot to spot, infantry sneaking in/around buildings and trees, or a jeep sitting in the middle of the road?

I'm not saying that a PKM is better than a jeep for taking on choppers, but I don't think one has a huge advantage over the other. With a jeep, your more obvious position and the fact that you're draining the chopper's life more quickly make you a primary target that sticks out like a sore thumb. With a PKM, it's easier to hide and the slow drain on the chopper's health make it more likely that the pilot won't take notice for a while. With either one, you're basically just going to be a nuisance that keeps the chopper from capping a flag.

hmm.. do you think you'd be able to heal fast enough to keep up with the heli guns mowing you down? Somehow I sincerely doubt you can pull thàt off

I wouldn't say that, those mounted .50cals are actually pretty good at damaging helis, and you have a good chance (as long as the heli doesn't see you right away) that you will be able to take him down with it. The PKM really doesn't have a prayer getting a heli kill on it's own.

Personally, I'd like to see the infantry MG do more damage to aircraft.

Maybe, maybe not. Either way the PKM isn't going to help you live any longer. At least I'll be a moving target.

Now your talking about one of my favorate things....I love to shoot down choppers useing machine guns, not my kit gun, but ive shot down a ton of chopters <--- LOL (hybrid im the worst speller) using the 2nd spot machine guns on the buggys its great because most of the time there is no evasive action because no missle lock sound. I get a really warm fuzzy feeling when i blow a BH out of the sky and i got 4 or 5 kills with a FAV. I actually have shot down more helis with machine guns that anti air. This is one reason i never complain about wepons in the game, if i gets me enough times and i get frustrated i find a way to take it out if i can.

what I have the most issue with as a helo pilot is the damn .50 cals on the jeeps/humvees....they cause quite a bit of damage.

as far as lmgs go, the pkm would be the choice

Yup the jeep mounted machine guns are very effective against the choppers. One time on Mashtuur I used my pistol and fired at a BH and you can imagine my surprise when it blew up in mid air hehe I know I brought it down because I got the kills, it must have been on the verge of exploding already, i guess you can get lucky sometimes, it was very amusing

That same exact thing happened to me on Mashtuur. I was randomly shooting an enemy chopper with my silenced pistol, and it exploded and I got the kills for it!

Anyway, I can't tell you how many times I have been shot down in a blackhawk by a jeep, =(

On the other hand, APC doesn't seem to do much damage(not the missile). The 12.7mm MG on top of TANK is also nice against heli, though tank driver's secondary MG is not that good.
