The trick with using a joystick is to practice spinning and hovering. Once you get those two things out of the way, flying a helicopter with a kb/mouse just wont be the same.

As for jets, I can pull some pretty nice stuff now from trying them out in single player.

    PEACE

Can someone post a Newegg Link to this EVO that you all are talking about?

I searched for it myself, and got only 2 results, one said specifically dont use it for BF2...so I assume I didnt find the right product.

Those appear to be them, but those are the wireless versions.

Now that I know the brand name...maybe THIS is the EVO everyone is talking abotu?

The idea of having a joystick is so you have anologue axes for all the movements

The EVO has 4 axes. (twist for rudder, pitch, roll and throttle)
6 buttons on the joystick head all ergonmically placed with antropermetrics taking in to acount it can be adjusted anyway.
6 buttons on the base, 3 on either side, it would be pretty hard to ergonomically use all 6 i think its more of a left handed or right handed thing but the buttons are well placed.

Most features can be easily adjusted as well.

thats like ok for flightsims but way way over the top for an arcade style shooter like bf2... far too much money too....ok it looks nice but there is really no need at all for time zone display now is there ?

                          2 things:-

                          1. the stick needs to twist and have a spring that pulls it back to a centre position.

                          2. It needs a analgue throttle.

Well i'd definately advice you to buy the Saitek Cyborg Evo.

I bought it a cple of weeks ago and absolutely love the adjustability to make it fit your hand. Also there are a ton of buttons and the fattest and mostest best thing, they gow blue!!!!

I'm a bit sorry i bought the forcefeedback version as there is no support in BF2 for it, it needs an ac power supply for the FFB and it gets pretty hot on the underside. 3 good reasons to not buy the FFB version.
