This isn't CS ... besides a primary pistol user is not half as effective as any other kit in the game.

The pistol is very useful indeed. If you're walking around as AT, you'll find that the pistol is better for long range. Although I do admit to hating the MEC's pistol, the iron sights misaligned with the crosshair. Swap between iron sights on/off, stare at the crosshair and you'll see what I mean. I don't pull out the pistol much as MEC because of that.

The damage is good (25 maximum/round, same as any Spec-Ops carbine), although I hate how the silencers sort of block the iron sights. On MEC that's a plus though, because you can predict where it SHOULD be hitting more easily. :laugh:

Anyhow, the silencer doesn't really make that much of a difference. People just need to stare at their HUD, see from which direction it came from and watch for a muzzle flash (surreal, but it's there).

If I go for expert (I have around 750 pistol kills now :p ), it'll have to be done in the USMC, in some city map. I hate the MR-444...

Most of my pistol kills have come from my time as an AT trooper. I do love the DAO, but its long-range capabilites leave something to be desired.

But I also have finished several gunfights with the pistol when I run out of ammo. Whoever said that a lot of people will just bunnyhop while they reload instead of switching to their pistol is right, and since that's usually in CQC it's not hard to hit a bunnyhopper with a pistol at all. The silenced pistols are cool, but I don't like the ironsights because the silencer blocks what you're aiming at.

I would still have to go with the silenced pistol, since they all do the exact same damage. The silencing is just a perk and, for me, is worth losing the sights.

I hate them with a passion. They are the one gun I've used which has bullets which seem to avoid the enemy. I've shot it at walls to see if its as accurate as it looks and was surprised to find it was, but when I try to use it in multiplayer, it misses 90% of the time.

Yes, I do. With the m95 it's the best. Just hit them once with the sniper and take them out with your pistol with one shot so good.

I love my pistols, most accurate and reliable long range weapon in BF2. You cant imagine the "**** YEAH" feeling i get when i kick some bunnyhopping n00btubers ass mid-jump.

it was already stated but using it with sniper class is the best use I found for it. Ive never been able to master the 1 shot 1 kill with a sniper rifle so I always peg them in the leg or something, but with the accuracy of the pistol i just pull it out, pop a round of and get the kill.

Its a nice combination with the m95. Missed the head on the first shot, finish with the pistol and watch that death message appear that tells someone that they just got owned by a pistol.

I use my pistol a lot when I run out of ammo with my main gun. I will also use it when I am an AT or Engy for longer distances.

It's really accurate. It might not be that damaging but if you can get even one headshot you can kill the enemy fast. It does take 2 headshots to kill with a pistol though.
