Does anybody else's significant other play BF2?

    And I don't mean your AIM/ICQ/MSN f***buddys either...

I suggested to my partner earlier if she'd consider starting a BF2 account and having some online fun.... she made a sound at the back of her throat that sounded like a flymo cutting it's own power cable, which I took to mean "not even forensically"...

My wife gets sad everytime she hears someone die. It's usually me but I don't tell her that. Too gruesome for her. She likes when I'm a medic and helping people.

Weird :) Long ago when I was living at home, I was playing Quake 2 (the one with great NiN soundtrack). I left it running whilst I went for a smoke, next thing I know the old dear was worried, saying that some weird sounds were eminating around the house that sounded like satanic cults...

I played with headphones from then onwards... For some reason the music really freaked her out.

      (true story)

My wife would never play games unless someone made "Ultimate Mall Shopping Spree" or some crap like that. My son games with me so thats fine.

There *is* a mall simulator you know... it's a cheap budget game too. She should try that.

            Nah,

she can't do any mouse/keyboard combi game.

Frighteningly good at R.T.W. though - until she realised exactly what incendiary pigs were and stopped playing.

            murt.

My wife tried to play BFV for a while. She hasn't tried BF2 yet. She rules!

I've tried to get my wife into it, but she's FPS-challenged. She's not used to moving around a virtual environment. The closest experience she's had is playing The Sims series. I've tried starting her out easy, by setting her up in a game of COD on Greenhorn setting, but even then she struggles.

She did, however, enjoy the rifle ranges in America's Army. She likes shooting weapons -- she just has problems navigating her character in the virtual environment.

I tried getting my missus to play my Xbox once as I was bored and wanted to pwn her at Halo2 but she just gave me a black look.

                    I never asked her again.

I do have a mate who's missus plays BF2 and is half decent at it though.

I wish. I've been slowly trying to get my girl into games for the past year or so, hoping I could wear her resistance down little by little with crap like DDR and Nintendogs. It doesn't seem to be working.

On the bright side, we have an understanding that Sunday is videogames 'n football day, when I can be as selfish and insensitive as I want.

I have tried to get my gf to play but she isn't interested.

She "doesn't like killing things," and I have told her that "this is a video game and noone actually dies." But that didn't seem to sway her.

The good thing is that she doesn't care if I do play and she will watch if I am playing over the speakers.

Hmmm... I did specifically say "significant other" in the thread topic and; as expected, it's mostly about "my wife/girlfriend/maid"... This confirms my belief that there are no women on the Internet.
