Parachute Tip: Remap '9' to 'Backspace' (obvious)

Keep missing your parachute button, well remap it (if you haven't already). I recommend the big fat BACKSPACE key for all those "oh ****" moments when you need to quickly open your shoot.

May seem obvious to most, but believe me you'll be happier once you did it.

Also, someone please curse the guy who mapped the open parachute to the #9 key (almost as bad a the guy who suggested to map it to SHIFT + '=' key).

Nah X is better. You're used to X cause its Flares for planes, so your finger is already aquanted with the button. plus its closer.

Hm, I never tried to map it to X, because I figured it would conflict with the vehicle controls, because that's just how BF2 is. I'll have to give it a crack.

Good tip...yes obvious...but ingenious...I'll give it a shot...

here's one....did you increase the sensitivity of your mouse when you're in a tank? It makes it easy to spin the turret...but I guess you knew that too...hehe.

I use 'G', its also close and i havent missed it since i changed to it...
My frind though he always misses the '9' and almost end up dead.

I never miss the key. However due to lag, I seem to end up dead most of the time even though I've deployed my parachute. Such as the time when I jumped off a tower, and rocketed to the ground like a nose diving jet. I hit the ground in a little under half a second. And when I only have just an instant to pull it before I hit, by the time I've pulled it, the server will have already regestered that I've hit, and so I die.

I also mapped mine to G, and I have a button dedicated on my joystick to bailing and parachuting.

I mapped mine to the middle mouse button. It works great and I almost never die by hitting the ground. I also have the flares hooked up to it. Works for me!

Ditto. But I DO hit the ground and the chute doesn't open sometimes. I think i figred that one out - if you are too close to a wall while falling, the parachute won't open because it doesn't have room. Maybe gotta jump more away from the wall.

Good tip, thanks! I use F for counter measures, I found it works much better then X.

Put mine on G and re-mapped the original G function to F

i use "-" on the num keypad for paracute....nice and close to my mouse hand and easy to find and bash in an emergency :)
