    Black Screen Problem!

    Hey,

I recently downloaded the BF2 Multiplayer Demo from EA's website (my friend recomended it). I installed the game and restarted my computer as usual, all went as normal. It ran perfectly until the Battlefield 2 screen faded, It stayed Faded for a few seconds then disappeared completely, about 1-2 seconds later the screen came on with a cursor, every 5-7 seconds disappearing, for around 2 seconds, this kept happening until I pressed ALT + F4, The game closed. I looked in the Readme file for help on this, it said to delete the following directory - \My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles. After I did this, I ran the game, it took a few seconds to load, my screen went black then my desktop appeared with no signs of BF2 running. I also have DXT Support Enabled, I have the same graphics card as my friend who can work it perfectly, (ATI Radeon 9200 SE AGP), I have an AMD Athalon 64. Im not sure how to fix it so I've turned to you guys' to help me.

    Thanks in advance, Stuart

Can I just bump the thread please? Still no luck.
      Thanks

UPDATE: It is now back to the original problem before I deleted the Profiles folder.

I did mean a post of help, not of saying goodbye...

A corrupt installation could have caused this error. Or you could try updating your graphics card drivers or trying some other ones.

No luck. Although I have just noticed something in dxdiag, There seems to be a direxctx 9c file missing names "system.dll". I've just tried re-installing directx, but the same fault is there, could this be the problem?

Hmmm... Still looking for help people. Need a cure for my missing "system.dll" file in dxdiag under the DirectX Files tab, I am pretty sure that is the problem.

U should be able to unisntall it w/ Control Panel - Add / Remove Programs and reinstall it. I'd uninstall and reinstall the all game. Tho take a look till the end of this thread....

                          Good luck.

I tried everything there unfortunatly nothing worked for me. Although in the last part of the other thread there was a change (Also deleting all the folders with long alphanumeric names in ..\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache\ is a good idea.) It wasn't a very good change as now it is asking for a disk to be inserted.
