    BF2amp, more than spyware?

You guys that installed BF2amp may have more than spyware.

As a added precaution, we released BF2Amp earlier in the month on totalbf2 and planetbattlefield. BF2Amp received more than 10k downloads, and what they dont know is, BF2amp has ALL of the code from v9.1 inside of it, which will keep PB from ever scanning for strings and banning for anything but 2 minutes. PB will be unable to EVER ban you for using this hack, due to the fact that people out there are using our winamp plugin, and if we get banned, so will they.

I dont know if this is rumor, factual or what. I didnt install the amp so theres no way for me to try to investigate. That was posted on the front page of the well known pay to hack site. Thats a bummer if its true.

Don't blame PB, you are the one that had the hack installed, whether you meant to or not. You need to be more careful about what you install on your PC.

It wasn't a bad smokescreen. As far as a hack goes, not a bad idea.
Too bad they went ahead and F:censored:ed over so many people.

You wanna be mad at someone? Be mad at the dweeb that released this garbage. Go ahead and report him.
In this case, he HAS broken some laws. Cut and Dried. He burried code on your machine without your knowladge that proved to be destructive in it's intent. You have every right to sue his ass.
          Get your pound of flesh.

bf2AMP has the source code... not the actual hack

              Re: BF2amp, more than spyware?

BF2amp has the code footprint of a hack imbeded in it's code. BF2 amp is an addon for winamp and not a hack. The people that make the hack released this addon for winamp thinking that PB wouldn't ban the hacks footprint since it is part of a publicly released winamp addon. I guess they thought wrong and PB did ban the footprint getting whoever used the addon banned. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Want to play Winamp inside of BF2? Well, now you can with this nice addon to BF2 called BF2Amp.

"BF2Amp is Winamp controls for Battlefield 2. When you are in game, pressing the Delete key will bring up the menu. Arrow keys navigate the menu. Features are: Draw Title, Play, Stop, Pause, Next Track, Previous Track, Forward, Back, and Volume."

Who would now like to cause his untimely demise by forcebly inserting his keyboard into any number of he orafaces... repeatedly?

He didn't do it to get people banned. He did it so PB wouldn't ban the hack's footprint. I guess PB didn't care that innocent people would get banned.

He did it with the full knowladge that the only way that PB would be able to kill off his hack package (that contained more than just the commander hack) would be to ban everyone that had BF2amp.

                      He left them no choice.

Understand that before you say PB doesn't care and place your ire where it belongs.

I don't have any ire. Of course the hackers don't care if innocent people get banned. I'm saying obviously PB doesn't either.

                            What choice did they have?

He specifically coded BF2amp to act as a shield against his cheating F:censored:k-tard customers.

It came down to a specific choice for Even Balance (the people that made/maintain PB, BTW).
                            Either:
They alow the cheats to destroy the game, at which point EA cancels their contract and they lose a shwatchload of money.
                            Or
They ban a bunch of people who desided to install questionable software.

                            Simple, really.
