Would anyone be interested in a Last Man Standing event?

I've been thinking it'd be rather cool to have a sort of last man standing event. I don't exactly know how it would occur with teams and such, but the respawn time would have to be some high ammount, or disable respawning(probably impossible). Set it in a 16 man environment (maybe a man-made map such as an arena), everyone has to be one kit, no unlocks (unless you allow everyone to have every unlock). An all-out sniper contest would be rather cool, and have many elements of hiding, moving, ect.

It's just an idea that I'd like to see happen, but am not able to accomplish it myself. There would need to be a few refs.

Anyone got any input, or do I just sound like an idiot?

wouldn't work with bf2.

If you want too play a army type game that has it so when your dead your dead you might as well play Americas Army.

There are lots of things in Americas Army that bf2 could and should take note of but not respawning probably isn't one of them because it just wouldn't work.

I know it wouldn't because you die so often with the vehicles, arty, ect. I was just thinking certain events such as an all sniper match where the best sniper wins with the best hiding spot, shooting, ect. See what I mean? Picture it in a map like the 16 map oman map. Something would nee to be modified and I myself don't really own a server, but someone could probably figure out a quick mod with no teams(every man for himself)...

I'm just thinking out loud.

Maybe it it were snipers only, or G3 only kits being used, and no vehicles, spawncamping.

I wouldnt want to play if there are nadelaunchers and other sorts of easkill weapons.

Yea, I'd say do:

• No vehicals.
• No aircraft.
• No Helicopters.
• Nothing but sniper kits. (Unlock or not)
• When your dead, don't respawn
• Use a HUGE map.
• No flag caps, no destroying things for points, just kills.

That would make one heck deadly game of hide and seek.

I'm in, if you are going to do this. I'll also see what I can do in was of a server.

32 v.s. 32
The winning team of that is split to, 16 v.s. 16
The winning team of that is split into 8 v.s. 8
The winning team of that is split into 4 v.s. 4
The winning team of that is split into 2 v.s. 2
The winning team of that is split into 1 v.s. 1
...Then you have your winner.

(I probably could get a 32 man server, though.)

This would be kind of cool. Small maps like the MOHAA Team deathmatch maps. Cut the mega-weapons out, perhaps introduce an M1-garand type thing... Hell, just put the MOHAA team deathmatch gameplay in to a small BF2 environment. That would be kind of cool.

Sniping is all about waiting.
If there were enough participants, and if we had a 32 man server(unranked of course) If we couldn't make it every man for himself, we could:

Randomize teams 16v16
Top 10 from winning team, and top 6 from losing team(you can't DQ someone for being on a bad team).
Top 5 from winning team, and top 3 from losing team
Top 2 from each side have a 1v1 best of 3 rounds in a 16 man map.
Two winners battle in the format above.

It would also be kinda fun with grenade launchers as the other guy said, I never really thought of that. There would need to be some way to get them ammo, but not enough to wher ethey can just go around everywhere and shoot. Strategy is the name of the game.

I wouldn't really need/want to be the leader, it's just an idea. If someone else wants to take inititive, make the rules, manage a server, and all the rest, be my guest.
