Arty Kills DO count towards badges.

I was gaming tonight with a relative. He had 66hrs of Support time, and already had the basic support combat badge. Two maps in a row he was the commander. On his last game, he received his veteran support combat badge.

I heard some people saying that it doesn't count, however it actually DOES. Wether it counts as kills towards your stats, I do not know. But for badges, it does.

Odd, I didnt think they did. Well that changes alot. Means alot more easier to get badges :evil:

They always have counted towards badges...

The kills still show up on your stats..just not Ingame...and to the best of my knwoldge an arty kill will help reduce the other teams tickets

its the same thing as if you sit in a tank or a hummer you will get basic armour and so on...

Right now i only have 42 hours in a tank. I need 100 for veteran.

I got a vet badge tonight as commander w/arty, so I can confirm this personally. These kills do count.

I sat in an emplaced AA last night while playing as an assault character and commander. I started the match as commander, and after about five minutes, I got basic assault combat, basic ground defense badge, and the ground defense ribbon. I got all three within two or three minutes of each other. The only kills I had by that point were artillery kills.

As already said it's got nothing to do with being commander. The same rule applies for tanks and AA. Kills count towards badges.

Commander kills aren't displayed in the final table but are added to your global score in BFHQ

I got veteran engy with arty, so I too can personally confirm this.

However, I don't know if the kills actually count toward your global kills.

My point was, is after the patch came out loads of people said it did not count. I'm just confirming it does.

a long time ago i was parcticing as commander and kept on dropping artillery, and didnt do anything else, and before i knew it, i got the basic assault badge. But then i tried it again for the knife and pistol and it didnt work, so i think it only works for the kit you are playing with.

i was under the impression that it fixed a bug that counted them as "weapon kills" like a knife (if you were holding the knife the whole time) pistol, shotgun, assault riffle, ect ect.

i was also under the impression that the kills simply counted as "kills" so although you could get 10 to get the basic kit badge.... you couldnt get the basic armor badge... as the kills werent tank kills. so im very suprised to hear that one dude got the TOW badge or AA (whichever it was)
