    Re: Going prone & zoom

Well, I only play support (mostly at least) and whenever I fire my gun, I prone and look in the iron sights. The only time this does not apply is when I am providing some covering cover fire for my squad as they cross the street or something. I tend to go prone with almost all the other classes as well but in some situations you are better to stand or crouch.

For all of these kits, you would react slightly, if not much differently. For an assault class I would probably have my gun on auto charge the guy and, as someone above said, shoot 2-3 shot bursts. For the medic, I might do that or I might crouch and "zoom" and fire. Sniper, I would probably spot and flee or pull out my pistol. Support I would probably drop, zoom and unload 3-5 shot bursts.
I normally play as medic. So a good thing for this class would be to stay around medium range....behind your team so you can help pick off anyone while supporting them well? In this case, would it be best to just crouch so you are ready to sprint to someone if they need to be revived/healed?

I sometimes play support as well. I'd assume this one would be stay prone and cover some main entrance or alley so your teammates can make it through. Support really is for cover fire and re-supplying troops, right?

Yeah, I would argue that, as a medic, you want to let the assault lead the way. But the Medic guns, non-unlocked, are pretty good close combat so I wouldn't fear running in too much. . . but supporting the assault class is your main objective, IMO.

Support guns are mainly for suppression fire and only have even remotely decent accuracy when proned and iron-sighted. (Although, the PKM, the unlock, can slaughter people). But still, their accuracy sucks. . . however, you can fire for hours on end without reloading. Good times.

Most important thing is to not just hold down the fire button, but to fire in bursts.

I love the guys that when they see you, they jump, go prone, and take you out in like one shot while being 4 feet off the ground. By the time they hit the ground you are dead. Or the guy that jumps, goes prone, rolls and kills you in one shot while upside down. Once in a while isn't bad but some people are doing thing every time like it is an exploit, starts to **** me off! It is like the accuracy of prone is establish as soon as you hit the prone key before you even land on the ground.

Yeah, that's dolphin diving. I can get annoying but sometimes I do it without even wanting to. Sometimes jumping is good to get to a nice position and then if you hit z while in the air, you will be prone in the air. And yes the accuracy is the same as on the ground. It's not much of a problem though since a well placed grenade or some cover will save your ass.
