Is there any good (free) photoshop like programs I can download?

Whats up everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a program where I can edit photos like in photoshop, but it wont cost me anything. I wanted to edit my battlefield 2 screens, as well as make a sig for this site, so I downloaded the new paint program from microsoft (Paint.NET) and its ok, but I want something better.

None, that I know of that are legal, but Photoshop and such have free 30 day trials, which are worth checking out.

I thought about buying the new photoshop CS2 (or whatever its called) thinking that it was only 40-50 dollars, and when I got to the website I **** myself. Its costs 600 dollars! Does it cure canser while your editing you photos or something?

If you run Linux ther are some options. Don't know of any for windows though.

No I have an old copy of Photoshop I picked up a few years back, but GIMP is capable of the same stuff.

Actually it doesn't do anything at all, if you don't know how to use it. And please remember that Adobe Photoshop CS2 is designed for professional use, that explains the price.

Photoshop CS2 doesn't differ that much from the earlier version Photoshop CS (some new effects and tools), so you could also look for Adobe Photoshop CS, it should be cheaper than the CS2...

And I do all my artwork with Photoshop CS2, including my sig.

I use Paintshop pro 7 and Photo-filtre which are both free, and they work well together. i had a look at Photoshop and it looks similair to psp7 but im sure its better, also i like the psp7's interface more

Yeah I use Photoshop 6.0, I pretty much know how to do everything:p

though my brother is a lot better with it than me (hes going to school for drawing/graphic design) cause hes the one who showed me how to use it
