#3 --- engys wont usually head back to spawn, particularly on a large map to repair commander's assets, taking this out doesnt make sense.

#5 --- its a video game, an arcade style game ffs. This isnt RS or anything, and if you played UT99 back in the day you'd certainly understand.

Man, I don't think I remember threads like this over UT's jumping, double jumpnig, telefragging, etc... :P :P Suggestions are coo, but leave the jumping alone lol

                SUpply lines is called Onslaught.

                Conquest is different.

You'll even see it if you read up on their upcomming UT2K7. Conquest is capturing unlinked posts and control points. Onslaught is the linear or multi-linear linking of control points in which one control point cannot be captured unless you've captured the point linked to it.

Its clear that in BF2 its only conquest.

The supply lines thing sounds like UT2004 Onslaught.

The main thing why supply lines worked well for UT was because they didnt have C4's and Mines!

I remember someone made a mod to have supply lines implementer and i played in the server. Since BF2 has so much toys you can play with it doesnt work. Some guy was just planting C4's in the next flag and blowing everyone up when the flag went down. Rinse and Repeat. Did not work! You would think that if it was this easy to implement, EA wouldve dont it. But they tested it and probably found the same problem.

What you're calling a problem here I'm calling effective defense. That's exactly what makes supply line so much fun. If you wan't that flag, it's no longer as simple as driving up to it when no one's around and shooting the one or two people who happen to show up where you are. Now you have to figure out how to bypass the enemy's defenses. And there are ways to get past mines and C4s.

Besides, as long as you have blind team mates driving tanks and APCs, mines will never be a true threat to the enemy. And now you can bow up mines. As for the C4, you can still do that without supply lines mode of play. C4 is a bit overpowered as it is (although probably not a major problem).

Considering that a player has to come destroy the command assets personally and cannot drop a bomb on a parachute to do it for him making another player come repair it personally seems fair and balanced. And an engineer flying a chopper does some pretty quick repairs...

I think think transitioning from sprinting to prone happens too quickly. This is about balance, not real life. A player who runs and jumps is the hardest target to hit and to balance that his ability to hit someone else should be as low as possible.

Think of game balance as a pendulum. On one side you have Mobility on the other side you have accuracy. When you are standing you are in the middle. When you move forward you swing the pendulum toward mobility, you run you swing it further, you jump and the pendulum is at it's farthest point, you have the least accuracy and the most mobility. Now to get more accuracy you need to let the pendulum swing back to the middle then to the other side to extreme accuracy. You cannot have both extreme mobility and accuracy at the same time. It's not balanced. The swinging represents time, it takes time to go from extreme mobility to extreme accuracy. Going prone and aiming while jumping is cheating this system and allowing you to skip the swing and just pop over to the other side. I don't mind if you can still shoot while jumping but your accuracy should be next to nothing and you should not be allowed to do anything that would boost that accuracy while airborne or running (Iron sights, prone, crouching) Just like straffing has no response when you sprint, aiming, crouching, and prone should have no response when you are jumping or sprinting. You should have to stop doing these activities in order to crouch, prone, or iron sights.

It's all about balance and it swings back and forth, it doesn't instantly go where you want, you want to run across the road you know that you are giving up the oppurtunity to accuractely fire your weapon for a short time. You want to fire your weapon accurately? Then you will give up the ability to move quickly for a short time.

                          1. and 4. i agree with, however on 5 it should just remove the cross hair or as on DC and just reduce the accuracy if you start being a twat and jumping around manically like a goddamn jack in the box.

lol.. this forum is funny as hell..

ANY complaints at all result in the EA brown noser patrol
                            coming at you in force..

the thread title wasnt hasty, nor the post.. just a simple
opinion.. but yet, the 1st 2 responses are just typical of
                            this entire forum...

If you dont like it, just move along.. your brown nosing replies
are useless.. what, are you 12 years old or something ?

btw, I agree with the suggestions.. with the exception of the
jumping.. theres nothing wrong with firing while jumping, imo.

i agree with that claymores shouldn count ass tk...its to lame when a friendly runs over them and then punish...the supply line is also a got thing...gets more intense fights and more to do for tanks ..

funny..Armed Assault looks like a total OFP rip off...everything looks like in OFP...there are only new player modells..the rest is the same as OFP..lame..

The supply line sounds cool, but would rather have that implimented as another gamemode, rather than replacing conquest. give people the option
