Yeah, that's all I do... I like using the ceiling as a defense when I'm being chased by a fighter when I'm in a bomber.
You can even get past the 1000 foot mark and if you're holding reverse, fall back down into "safe" space and get back on the map while leaving your pursuer spinning out of control
Yep, its a great tactic, and due to the realistic physics system in BF2, when bombers are neutral, they will fall faster due to their greater mass, therefor easier to get control back.
Re: Is it just me or can pilots get lost in the sky?
just take your finger off the W button on the key board or if using a joystick, put throttle in the neutral position. If you're in a bomber, switch seats, but make sure you change back before hitting the ground.

Dude I wish we could do that. Like your flying beside an enemy plane and he see's smoke and fire coming out your plane then looks again and see's blood all over the cockpit lol...

Then the your out area sign then your heath starts to go...
Oh god, same here. Usually when I get lost in the clouds it's because I am not sure of where the horizon is. The lame HUD doesn't have an artificial horizon that every plane since about 1930 has had. The mini map doesn't help, either.
It's just another lame flaw in the game. They give you a jet that does 900 mph, they stick you in a map that's about 5 square miles and then they punish you for going out of bounds. WEAK!
Re: Is it just me or can pilots get lost in the sky?
Its a very popular noob tactic, although rarely works, fly high up so the guy chasing you will lose control as well, you both die.
But any experienced pilot would fire 2 missile at the floating target and come down to safe altitude, wait for the two missile to hit the floating target.

But man, its so fun to fly with another person, side by side. So neat.
One time I passed by my squad leader, upside down and above him and said over voice chat:
"Y, hello thar."
