Yup. I had greater success shooting down planes before the patch.

Above all else, I miss good AA guns like the flak from 1942, and the ZPUs, Vulcan, and Shilka from DC.

Omnipotent jets ruin the game. I try to play maps with limited/no jets. Just look at the popularity of Karkand.

I'm not saying get rid of jets, but the ability to shoot them down from ground is non-existent. It's absolutely and totally unrealistic. Some class of foot soldier (or vehicle) should have viable, accurate stingers that cause significant damage to jets, then I would stop my bitching. Until then, I say jets suck and ruin game.

          3) "When the pilot dies (which the ALWAYS do at some point)" Wrong. I frequently see good pilots survive the whole round.
Yep. I'm a half competant pilot (probably 5th reserve pilot for my clan), and usually only die If I lag into a mountain (which is a suprisingly common occurance despite my 1.5 mbit adsl connection), or collide with another aircraft, usually either a helo i'm shooting down, or when me and a friendly reload at the same time from different ends of the runway and collide.

I've had a clanmate (our 1st or 2nd best pilot), tail me for 15 mins trying to shoot me down. He was on my tail for an entire map, he was'nt able to shoot me down, if he locked onto me, I just do a steep turn or loop, and since I don't have uber control (keyboard only), jinking slightly is enough to stop massive damage from the cannon.

That's just the point...people have a dig at planes because you can't do squat about them. The AA is awful. At least you have viable alternatives when it comes to downing choppers.

Hell, I jumped in a jet on Kubra Dam just for fun the other day, and dispite being very new to flying, I 'owned'-nobody could shoot me down. :) (I will admit to being utterly rubbish at aiming bombs, though...)

There nothing wrong with the planes, its the sad AA, If the AA was 90% effective, more bombing crazy pilots would be more careful when they just drop bombs, now they can drop a bomb at there on free will has it is now.

Yeah, getting a plane is so easy while every noob and his mother is camping it.

Same, im a sucky pilot, but I never been shot down ground AA. Only other planes with better pilots kill me.

I agree, leave jets alone, expand the AA so they aren't so untouchable from the ground positions.

At least with choppers you can shot them down or chase them off with the Anti-Tank missles. thats proud feeling with you do it also :)
