    Dual video cards

How much doubling of graphics power (second video card) will increase the quality of the gaming? Is it going to be 100%?

I think you will get a bit of a boost but most games out today arnt up to the standards of SLI technology yet, so the consensus is that its a waste of power and money really. At this point in time anyway. I think so anyway. anyone wanna add?

Get a SLi enabled mobo but only get one graphics card for the time being; down the line buy another one when a game comes out that needs it.

Apparently the game has to be designed to handle SLI too, so if its not you might not notice any difference at all.
I may be very wrong, it's just that I seem to remember hearing that on perhaps.... erm.... GamerTV I think.

        Crash :P

Really no big deal at this time. As with most other innovations in this business, the SLI dynamic is not really being utilized by anything on the market right now.

I would suggest, however, a PCI card.

1st: A game doesnt have to be "SLI enabled" for it to work.
2nd: YES it does help your fps. It increses your graphics power on average about 30%.
3rd: Is it worth it? If you have the money and need a bleeding edge system.

I have 2 gigs of ram, AMD 64 4000+, and 2 GeForce 6800s running in SLI mode. My frame rate is 90-110 at 1280x960 with everything maxed and AA/AT at a good midrange.

I agree with number 7. That is probably about right.

The advantage so far is up to 32x AA (which is not so practical but available) Excellent all bells and whistles quality excellent FPS. Is it fuly utilized... NO not by a long shot.

Waste of money. Its not too bright to buy those expensive things right now when you can wait half a year or a whole year and buy them when they actually make a difference, and the price of them is cut down considerably.

Basically, SLI increases your framerate (in BF2) about 70%, if you have a good rig.

Period. You want high FPS, then get SLI, if you can afford it.
