Base Raping?

I was playing Kubra Dam yesterday, an the following happened.

I was MEC, in the jet. All flag where captured, except for the noncapturable USMC base (airstrip)
I waited untill the chopper lifts off, them im mowed down the cobra several times with my rockets.
The other player started a vote to kick me, Reason Baseraping.


Whats your Opinion?

The reason is because there are NO laws against IDIOTS buying PC games!

I prefer not baseraping, especially on maps like Kubra Dam were one team starts with pretty much all the flags.

EA could stop all that with just giving players a spawn shield for 2-3 seconds.

Sigh....

People have been wanting this since day one of bf1942 but yet again EA ignores the customer.

"Baseraping"... ah a subject close to my heart... I was playing on the Multiplay.co.uk: 50Klicks.com 50 player server the other day... Shatar Wetlands... Loaded the game up,clicked on the server, made a cup of tea, came back, cool, there's a JSF jet on the carrier and nobody else wants it...
The USMC rapidly pushed the MEC back to their main base and I proceeded to bomb and strafe anything trying to leave their base.
Somebody, presumably an admin, told me to stop "baseraping", I immediately complied. However, as soon as they started to take the first flag south of the MEC base, I bombed the 2x APCs and 1xT90 parked at the flag, killing them all. Rolling away and egressing with a satisfied smirk on my face and wham, kicked for 1 minute...
Went back on, the map had changed. AFAIK I was kicked without good reason, plus I'd been done out of first place and a gold medal (score was 24-0 at kick). Asked why they kicked me apparently out of the blue, 10 minutes or more after I complied with the "no baseraping" request. A fella said it was because I was baseraping. I reminded him I complied after being told not to and the kick was 10 minutes later... no answer from the clan members on there. That annoyed me, I suggested they were just a bunch of kiddies who are sore losers... kicked again and I received my first ban. :|:

Imho people who moan about "baseraping" in this circumstance*are* sore losers. If their team (which in this instance consisted of clan members, I thought clans had the edge on us pub players? :hmm: ) is so poor they are pushed back to their main base, wtf are the other team supposed to do? Lay siege outside the gate with a brew and biscuit until the map ends?!

base raping sux, but it is part of the game. If a team has been beaten back to their only base then so be it, they shouldn't be in that position, all fair in love and war. Its frustrating but thats the way it is.

there is nothing better then beating them back to there base and mowing them down as they spawn....unless of couse you take all the bases and hunt them down like dogs

yep its cool if the team only has 1 base left and you just go over to suppress them or w/ever but if there is more than 1 base and someone still goes and kills you as you spawn... well that just sucks

I agree with boxman80 on this one. If they're down to their last base, they obviously screwed up their tactics anyway. If they're down to their last base, that's exactly what the opposition *should* do, bring them down. What else could they do, sit around and wait for them to get in to a better situation? Nope... when the wolf is cornered, shoot it.

I agree with boxman80 on this one. If they're down to their last base, they obviously screwed up their tactics anyway. If they're down to their last base, that's exactly what the opposition *should* do, bring them down. What else could they do, sit around and wait for them to get in to a better situation? Nope... when the wolf is cornered, shoot it.

when you lift of with your chopper or move forwards and get killed, IT NO BASERAPING!

Example for perfect baseraping: 1 Blackhawk an one T90 on the airstrip, kill everyone, repair and resupply eachother...

I like baseraping and I don't understand when others moan bout it! This is a war game, would you think in Iraq the US forces would say: "let's give bagdad some space so that they can regroup and fight us more organized!" This'd never happen, if you have pinned the enemy down, you have to take him apart, don't leave them a metre to move!

Baseraping for ever!!!!! (even if it is anyoing if you're the one who gets raped )

Many more people have NOT been wanting this. I'm glad EA listens to their customers.

The only problem I have with baseraping is that it kills the game. I've been on serveral servers where we get baseraped and everyone just becomes a poor sport and quits. I dont blame them sometimes. The attacking team sometimes needs to let up a bit for the sake of keeping the game alive. If you were good enough to drive them back to the main base once, you should be able to do it a second time. If you do it a second time in one round, well then they deserve to get baseraped.

If you ask me, it's unethical to spawn-rape, but to hell with it, it's not like any BF2 player has that kind of pride or self-respect...
