Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Couldnt agree with this more........but I see both sides, and I agree with some points in this thread.....
I stand independant on this topic
I don't disagree with the points in the thread either. But of all the things wrong with BF2, stupid server rules are one aspect that the individual can successfully address on his own.
I always thought last stands were fun. If the other team is base raping, then so be it. My problem is if the other team is purposely hitting the spawn points. Then the game isn't so much a hectic last stand as 5 minutes of the counting game (not to mention the stat padding due to farming going on by the other team).
The only problem I have with baseraping is that it kills the game. I've been on serveral servers where we get baseraped and everyone just becomes a poor sport and quits. I dont blame them sometimes.
I never blame them, because I quit too if it gets to bad, simple as that.. And every lameass in this forum that thinks baserapping is so cool and that they're so l33t doing it, will do the same, I'm 100% positive..
Because no matter how skilled you are, once you end up in a newbie/n00b team and you start getting base- & spawnraped, there's nothing you can do.. And because I'm (and most others) not playing this game to improve someones else's ego by letting them spawnrape me constantly, I quit and try to find a more balanced server, thank you very much!
Only way to escape baseraping is actually having a squad of friends in the server with you that can help you escape and cap another flag.. On your own it's virtually impossible as it takes to long to get a flag.. So don't even start about teamtactics, everybody knows teamtactics are pretty much non-exsistant on public servers.. And again, all those people that think baserapping is so cool and l33t are just pathetic, because once it happens to you I bet you're the 1st ones to leave..
Luckily it doesn't happen to me often, and you've guessed it, I certainly don't baserape non-capturable bases myself.. IT'S LAME!
if they get pushed back to main - why not kill them all right there - new map will be quicker and they get another shot at trying not to suck.
i however like to let them get out and cap at least one base - seems a bit more sporting if you will.
i hate being on the receiving end of a baseraping - like joining a server late into a round....that is where it gets fun though. takes some serious work and team effort to get out - but when you do it is so much more fun. especially if you get a few people out, then all take different spawns at the same time. the other team gets confused and does not know where to attack since more than one spawn is up. i have seen maps flip like this many many times.
baserapers get too cocky and overconfident - and if done properly - is an awesome "in your face" moment to laugh at them.
baserape if you want - i will make the best of either side of it.
I think the assault ship is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you can never capture it, but on the other hand, if you're reduced to just it, you're going to have one hell of a time trying to get off of it long enough to capture a new flag.
This weekend, was playing USMC and the other side had excellent pilots, these guys were good. They'd fly formation, first guy would come in, take out the AA, 2nd guy comes and blows the crap out of anything on deck.
About 1 out 5 cobras would make it off the deck... and even then they had to get across the water in one piece.
If I didn't like stealing enemy copters so much, I'd almost vote to make the airstrips off limits for enemy personnel somehow.
I say you should be able to baserape without getting kicked. It is part of the game like some people have said. Of course no one likes to be killed right when they spawn and don't even get a chance to see their weapon cuz they were killed so quickly but think of it this way. If your the one baseraping do you mind? Of course not. Most people want to rack up those kills and get a few points. Now I wil say that sometimes i just like playing defense so i'll go to a karkand only server and defend "Hotel* which if you didn't know is the closest MEC flag to the USMC and i just have fun defending but i don't usually run up to their spawn right away and start blasting with my support weapon and throw genades and sit there the whole game getting 30 kills and maybe 1 or 2 deaths even tho I used to do this when i first started. I say baserape until somebody stops you and if you were stopped and the opposing team still don't have any flags then go back and do it again but don't do it too early. Give them a small chance but if they don't take your offer then baserape them until they scream.
Whats next...people complaining about spec ops going to their main and taking out their equipment? Deal with it. Pull back, reorganize, clear our your main and fight forward again.

Just wait when some clown puts claymore mines at spawnpoints in your uncappable base.. Also think that's all fair and part of the game? If you do you are a complete ****** imho..
It happened to me yesterday.. It was the most lame baserapping "tactic" I've yet seen in this game..
Luckily a lot of servers do have admins that understand fun & fair play, so we'll just leave the rest to the lamers outthere.. Like I said, I don't baserape, because I understand it's lame!! And besides that, I don't need it to do good in this game.. Everybody that does enjoy baserapping because they can are just selfish ****, people I don't wanna play with..
Only valid reason to enter an enemy uncappable base is as spec ops to blow up commander stuff.. Not to spawnkill..
Hanging around spawn points is wrong, suppressing the otherside at their last base is generally an indication that they didn't play as a team. End the mission quickly in the hopes the next round they wise up.
I have spawn into games where my suppose team was a bunch of lone-wolves. Sometimes I stayed and tried, other times I went looking for another server where folks wanted to play the game.
Of course these comments are not applicable to a long, hard-fought battle between two equally-matched teams and it comes down to the last few tickets at the remaining base.
I remember an instance of baseraping on Gulf of Oman: the other team was leading until I manned the MEC attack chopper with a competent gunner. With the help of the commander and another squad, we took back all of our flags and effectively chased them back to their carrier, at which point they were practically helpless to get off to capture a point. What did I do then ? I hovered over their destroyed artillery and waited in case one of their vehicles made it off, satisfied that our bombers and jets were having fun. I personally don't derive any pleasure from raping them at their only base, so instead of making it worst for them, I took my gunner for a ride around the town. LOL...
The best way that I've seen this handled ... and I've taken part on both sides of this scenario, is to meet the team about halfway between their base and the nearest flag at a chokepoint. This gives them the opportunity to at least leave their base without getting killed right as they spawn and makes for some crazy shootouts at whatever chokepoint you choose. It is still very hard for them to get anywhere, but at least it gives them the chance to fight back.
Spawn camping is weak. I was playing on Operation Clean Sweep the other day and there was a guy at one of the middle checkpoints lying behind some crates behind a building pointed right at a spwan point about 2 feet away. I spawned, he shot me. I spawned again (this time on the other side of the building), took a jeep around there and blasted him from the jeep. Yes, he was still lying there. Just racking up kills. That's weak.
Holding a team back near their own base is not. If your team has beaten them back that far, there is no reason to make it easy for them to get out. I've been pinned back in a base before and you just get a few guys in a jeep and make a run for it. Go for one of the further flags away (insted of the nearest one where everyone likes to run to and get killed), cap it and let your team get back in the fight.
If the server admins don't outlaw it, more power to you. If I'm on the receiving end, I either do my best to fight out of it or find a more balanced server.
Its part of the game yes, and I've done my share of it, but I think some common sense should be used...
Good Example: Is it their only flag left (uncappable or not)? If so, rape away! Or...you go in there to take out commanders assets, gotta fight to get back out :)
Bad example: Yesterday on Daging, a linebacker, tank, and some other fools came into our spawn (both sides have 1 uncappable) and started raping, however, the cp's in the map were about 50/50 --- in otherwords these tools should have been working on the cp's instead of raping our base.
This is actually good for your team. Less of them defending the cappable flags!
