i think you should just sell it all and take up another hobby :-) or ask someone who knows what there doing around PC's as it seems you dont really have a clue.
To reformat a sata drive you must save the sata driver to a floppy, boot from xp cd, when it ask for other drivers install floppy with sata driver, it will load and recognise sata drive and rest is follow xp prompts.
you dont need the sata floppy for an install on a sata drive, that floppy is ONLY for setting up a raid config... and as far as having probs with not reinstalling windows with the new mobo is amd issue... if you use an intel board you just have to install the new mobo, start the comp in safe mode.. and install the drivers for the new mobo, reboot and thats it.. I do it all the time at work ( i build computers for a living)
