Wake Island - US Dominate 100% ?

I just played one and a half rounds of Wake Island for the first time and each round the US just wiper their @ss with us. I kept telling everyone to hold the airfield but NO ONE listens.... ever....
I'm not saying anything about the map but I'm wondering what the trend is. It's been out long enough to where people might be creating some good tactics for the Chinese side. The US has a lot of air assets but as soon as we lost our airfield, we loose the one plane and chopper we had :laugh:
Are there any proven tactics at this point? I like to overcome obstacles but this one I might need some help on.

You can totally own the US if you fly over in a Z-10 and take out all their boats and choppers. But once they get onto the island there is tank spawns just waiting for them, and they will sandwich you and come take all the flags. Or drop down and take the airbase while everyone else is at the shores. And then flush the chinese out.

When there are airbases they should allways be uncappable or take more people and longer to take over. Making it impossible for only 2 or 3 people to take it over, like you need 5+ or so.

Most of the time i play China dominates. The Z-10 and many people camping the tips of the island with FAV's. Only when some how i boat captures a CP then the focus goes on that. Its very fun and actually a good stratgy forming map.

Although I hadnt played it all that many times... the US has only won once. And it was pretty much how you stated - their airpower just dominated the china airport then they snuck a BH in and captured a spawned jet. They handed us our A** on a silver platter. Didnt feel all that great about it as I was the Commander at the time. The team was trying and doing good things, just wasnt our day.

I knew that was the first base they would go for so I C4'd the area in hopes of clearing the first assalt but they were too smart. One went in and took one for the team, two flanked left and right, and the other stayed at the flag. They were really together on that play.
I'm going to get back into it in a bit and see what I can do to prevent that from happening again. =)

That was the problem. Apparently not many of my team mates were old school like me. This is BF42 and DC days here...

It is so easy for the chinese to win this map but normally you have a bunch of morons who can't quite handle not having something to attack the whole time.
And as the game has no other map where you have to defend a small number of outpost they have never worked out how to defend.

That's not my experience, I've won a lot more as Chinese, but it might have just been because I've played as Chinese a lot. (sorry for the brag)

You need a good pilot or you'll lose very easily. It is hard to defend in BF2 as cooperation is almost non-existent, the best you can do is set up FAV's on the edges and gun down the choppers and boats as they come in, and hope you have a decent pilot on your side. Most rounds in BF2 are decided by airpower, everything else is nominal.

Everyone wants to go to american so they can TK people on the air carrier or get in the gunner/missile launcher. Most of the time the Chinese team wins though.

are you aware of the insane bleed that PLA gets? do you know what ticket bleed is? have you even ever heard of a ticket? you know how much gear pla gets to start, how many tanks and ****, how many aa nests etc etc etc.

PLA IS STACKED. noob thread... but most bf2 players are noobs so no biggie i guess <3

If the USMC can take a flag, they'll win.

However, if the PLA can get the proper defense established quickly, they'll win. What the PLA needs to do is use the J-10 to destroy any boats that're already on the way and then go blackhawk hunting. In the meantime, the tanks at the two point-flags need to move up and camp the island. PLA wins after a very very boring round.

Every time i have played on wake its allways a slaughter fest. Now keep in mind i play as USMC but its just start people load up in the BH all the planes are in the air then we own the two bottom points and its over from there.. Sure they have alot of tanks and AA sites but its not enough..I have yet to play when China wins

Bit sly how the Chinese planes won't rearm if their airfield is captured, or american artillery will respawn at the airfield if it is captured.
