Whats wrong with communicating well as a commander. if only more would!!! Just because not all comms refer to you doesnt mean sb uses then. Think of the whole team!!!! And remember commanders are omniscient and see all!!!! So FOLLOW ORDERS!!!!!!

Thats fine, but this was like every single second. Literally. Througout the entire round. You dont think that gets a little annoying? Especially since it didn't give anyone else a chance to communicate, all you could hear was "Enemy troops spotted" over and over and over again.

The only time I really have a problem with a commander spotting units is when he starts spotting units inside a UAV he just deployed. had that happen a couple of times now. Asked the guy to spot guys outside the uav, where we need it, and he asked where I was. I told him and he dropped an artie on my head (was in a river swimming across, couldnt swim fast enough to avoid).
I remember reading a post a while ago about the commander scores. I thought that you got points for when people healed and resupplied from supply drops, but it only counted towards your commander score, not your global score. I dont play commander (I think i have 4 seconds as commander) because I can never get the position. Can anyone clarify on whether that is true?

Yeah, I've had a commander that did that. There's a difference between spotting troops, and spotting the same guy 4836023 times a second. He wouldn't shut up! I mean, the guy appears on your radar for a few seconds after he's spotted, you don't need to continually spot the same man...

That and every ten seconds he'd give my squad the "attack this position" order...when we were attacking it, and I'd accepted the order. He just kept spamming it over and over...

That kind of thing makes me more receptive and understanding when I'm commander, which is quite a lot of the time.

Commanders do get points if they kill things themselves - if I sit in AA and shoot planes down I get credited for the kills.

Proven this to myself when it was the first thing to happen in a round before anything else. Killed an attack chopper, got two kills & two points.

Your kills do show (and count on your stat sheet as kills) - but they do not count for points in that round. Your team got 2pts for you at the same time you got the kill.

Personal kills/flag caps do not count towards your pts. This has been proven over and over on these boards. There are nuts out there (god bless them) that took over a server and tested every scenario and also looked at the coding behind it. Search the forums, find the posts - listen to what people have said in this post already.

It is only your team's average pts. Also - you can't do that by adding up team pts at the final screen and take the average. People leave and enter the rounds - and when people TK, they lose pts - as a commander you do not lose the pts they got for you, you only get positives. This is how your average can be higher than what the average looks to be on the final score sheet of the round.

If you have applied for commander after you got points for support/medic/kills those will show up in your score at the end of the game which may explain the "shot down chopper, got kills".

Also, some commanders don't realize that, after a SCAN that you cannot correctly spot until after the red dots (enemies) have faded. While they are red on your scan screen you cannot "spot" them.

If a tank/apc is in the UAV range you should still spot them so, if you have air assets worth anything, they will take them out. Pilots pay particular attention to "Enemy Armor Spotted" and "Enemy APC Spotted" since they have the one shot kill ability on those assets. This is particularly important for troops to know since they can spot things they have no way of taking out (support vs. tank - tank wins, sniper vs. apc - apc wins) so they should spot and take evasive action while a pilot takes care of business (that is unless they are out dogfighting like idiots).
