Aye, perhaps. I still think its a ripoff however, releasing a addon while the original game is still broken. And if the infantry combat (hopping, diving, noobtubing) isnt changed, no ammount of infantry city maps is going to stop me being annoyed with that, and some people along with me.

Too each his own, no one is going to force you to buy it or even play it. But BF2 isn't broken (you can still play it) it's just not completely fixed of bugs (like so many other games). Myself I love the infantry combat in BF2, noobtubing aside, it's still a great game, imo, and I think SF is just going to make it better because it focuses on what I love.

I have no intent on paying $30 for what otherwise will be covered in free mods that will come out. Maybe if it was something really unique but I mean I can get that same type of gameplay from CS:S or any other type of special ops game.

The game can come out, I'll wait about 3 weeks or so afterwards. If it has taken the majority of BF2 players then I'd consider it. But even if it's moderately successful forget it. I have more fun playing CS:S.

And it'll have to be damn good too because right now EA just looks like money hungry SOB's releasing an expansion this early. I'd rather put my money elsewhere like COD2 and Starwars Battlefront II and just continue to play normal BF2, which is fine.

Lets not forget there is rediculous crap in the base game for this expansion ie: Noob Tube being rediculous at close ranges and bunny hopping.

Atv, jet skis, Ford truck with mounted gun, and many more vechicles will make this game very fun to play!

nope, Fall means XBOX 360, Battlefield Modern Combat, and new My Chemical Romance album or was that 06'. Plus im saving up for an IPOD and a new HPA tank for my paintball gun.

Oh well, I wont be buying it.

I still haven't got an answer to my other question. Are ranks going to carrry over? Will there be new awards and new unlocks? I know the weapons will be different but what about the whole ranking and awards system. Will everyone start out as a private again in SF?

Not that it matters, I am just curious.

I am going to get the ExPack...just out of curiosity, if BF2 follows suit with 42 and Viet. there will be plenty of mods and patchs that will encoorperate and use the best the original BF2 and the Special Forces pack have to offer. You will eventually need both to play these mods, imagine playing Forgotten Hope 2 and using grapeling hooks to get over the wall of a German Castle, or Rising Conflicts where tear-gas bombs are being dropped on the enemy base from the newest fighter/bomber, and Point of Existance Halo jumping into the French country side night vision style. Someday we will all be getting this patch....probably....maybe...Mods willing..

Nobody knows, but considering the way they just overhauled the ranking system i would think its at least a possibility, maybe thats why the lowered the requirements so much to give the brand new players that start on SF a more level playing field??

As i said all this is speculation and thats all anyone can give at the moment, its only a month away now isnt it? not long to wait to know for sure

I doubt I will. It offers nothing of interest to me that the original BF2 doesn't (or at least shouldn't) already provide.
